Railay Beach Viewpoint, Railay Beach

Inspirock Rating:
4.4/5 based on 650+ reviews on the web
Admiring sweeping views from Railay Beach Viewpoint: located on high cliffs overlooking the beach, the point provides superb perspectives and photo opportunities of the surrounding dramatic coast, sea, and palm trees below. Steep and narrow pathways make access to the viewpoint difficult to navigate. Ropes extend over parts of the route to assist the climb, but appropriate footwear is still a must. Even with proper hiking boots, however, don't attempt the ascent after a heavy rainfall because the path becomes extremely slippery. • View course offers simply stunning, especially if the Sun is shining! I advise you to wear comfortable shoes, sneakers or sneakers. The ascent is not a simple enough at the View point. If there was rain and did not have time to dry out as it should, not would advise climb. So-called "trail" at the top, if it can be so called for much of the way clay with bulging boulders, this very slippery and not safe to climb after the rain. Climb up very steep throughout most of the way. But the kind of course that you will find it's worth. If you come by boat from Ao Nang, you need to go to View plates point, they placed practically anywhere.

  • Some say it's a bit tricky, I find it amusing. Sure you have to be in a good shape in order to do it but it not that bad. the view from up there is absolutely breath taking. try not to miss it.
  • The hike is about 15 min, but its a steep climb worth for the beautiful area of the island. Great for photo taking on a perfect day at the perfect time. The waters a clear and warm. Having so much fun...  read more »
  • Perfect beach that is only accessible by boat from AoNang. I spent a few days here. It has a very peaceful feel with tons of mellow restaurants and bars. If I could I would have spent my whole holiday on Railway. Be careful on the west side of the beach, there are lots of sharp rocks in the water. The east side is much better
  • Nice but very shallow beach. Come hang out on the sand with the amazing scenery. Avoid the south part of the beach as there's a lot of sharp rocks in the sand, I cut my foot pretty badly just by slowly walking in the sand. The only way of getting to the beach is by boat, the road trip costs 200 Baht. If you're into rock climbing there's a lot of climbing spots around here. You can walk to East Railay from here, but the beach on that side is muddy and full of roots.
  • Great beach, no rocks, and the sea is amazing. The views are outstanding. You can get here by long tail boat from ao nang for 100B per way. Really worth the visit
  • One of the best beaches. Nice clean beach. Less crowded. Accessible only by boat from Ao Nang. Most of the hotels are of higher budget.
  • Way too crowded with tourists and lots of trash. Probably great for those who want to party, but that's not why I usually travel. Spent a lot of time just picking up trash to clear my conscience about adding to the mess of what once must have been a spectacular place.
