  • The mountain was visited in the evening. Very beautiful view of the mountain from the waterfront, you can see the temple and a ladder that must be overcome. Approached the stairs across the square from the waterfront, were just shocked by the amount of jumping and fighting monkeys. It's just an incredible amount of. The stairs ascended one after the other, pressing to yourself. It should be noted that there is a horrible stink. At the top of the monk obez'jani cleaned the waste, and the stairs were all udelana ((extreme ascent is rewarded by great views of the town and the coast.

  • Well worth the steps. The 360 degree views are stunning. If you don't take food the monkeys will not bother you.
  • This sight is known locally as Monkey Mountain, which is a very fitting name! We arrived at the base of the small mountain at 6am in the hopes of watching the sunrise. We were immediately please to se...  more »
  • Definitely worth the long hot climb. Views from the top are fantastic. I was afraid that the monkeys would be really aggressive and unpleasant, but they were actually quite sweet. Just expect them to swarm you if you're holding food. Park your motorbike across the street in the lot for the Wat - as close as you can to the vendors there. One of the kind vendors warned us that monkeys will play on it otherwise, and directed us to park it near her. And go over to the Wat across the street after. Incredible murals inside (and shade).
  • Very long beautifull beach for enjoy the wonderful evenings.
  • So the monkeys were definitely the best AND worst part of the day ;) the walk up was tremendous however the view was worth it everyday of the week! A must do for not only this town but for Thailand as well. There is a man at the bottom of the hill that will sell you food for only a few baht that you can feed the monkeys :) WARNING!!! careful, all the stories you have heard of monkey taking your things and chasing your wife are true!!! Take caution, and a good size stick, with you :)
  • Bring umbrella or stick to scare the monkey. Don't bring food there
  • Monkeys EVERYWHERE. They touch you and hiss at you as you climb the mountain. You can't go around them. They don't run away as you pass. There was a dog who was so frightened of them it was stuck at the top of the mountain, and had to stick with us to get down. Freaky stuff. Amazing views from the top though.
