Trip Planner:   Asia  /  Thailand  /  Phuket  /  Phuket Zoo
Visit Phuket Zoo to see a wide variety of animals. Take photos with some of the park's most famous residents, and stroll around the ample gardens. With themed areas and an interesting layout, this zoo has become popular with international visitors, particularly younger ones. Small stands around the grounds sell cold beer or ice cream. Note that multiple visitors have reported poor conditions for the animals, which may be reason to skip this attraction. Put Phuket Zoo on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Phuket Town day trip planning tool .

  • This is terrible, the animals are abused. The smell at the crocodile show made me gag. There was this one turtle that couldn't even turn around his tank was so small!!! He just has to live in the same position for his whole life. Price was 1500 Baht! They probably use all the money up on drugs for the tigers! Place was just trashy and dirty. The elephants "happy dance" actually means they are depressed, scared, and stressed. The monkey is a slave for money. Doing the show every day just so the messed up staff can have their precious money. More birds than there should be in a single cage.
  • I had mixed feelings about this zoo, my biggest complaining was how hard it was to find anything, they only had signs pointing to a few places. Don't let the 1 star reviews concern you, the animals don't seem abused, but they could have more room. It was worth it to us for an afternoon, we enjoyed the Elephant show they offered, and it was nice being able to interact with a few animals. I put this low on the priority list of places to visit in Phuket. The smells were bad in places, but not nearly as bad as the night market or other human zoos.
  • Where the negative 10 stars. I havent been, you couldn't pay me enough to step foot is such a cruel place. No animal should be made to perform tricks for tourists. No animal should be forced to live u disgusting conditions. And the entry price is a joke. Its obvious they care more about money than the animals. If you care about animals go to a elephant sanctuary where they care
  • Don’t ever go to a place where they force elephants to do tricks. The mahouts hurt the elephants in order to train them. Do your research. Supporting this only makes them to continue doing it. They say Thailand loves elephants which is incorrect. If they really loved them, they would never treat them this way.
  • A nice place to take kids here. Lot of varieties of wild animals, monkey plays are also arrange here. Best place for taking kids
