Phuket Zoo, Phuket

(1.3/5 based on 1,000+ reviews on the web)
Visit Phuket Zoo to see a wide variety of animals. Take photos with some of the park's most famous residents, and stroll around the ample gardens. With themed areas and an interesting layout, this zoo has become popular with international visitors, particularly younger ones. Small stands around the grounds sell cold beer or ice cream. Note that multiple visitors have reported poor conditions for the animals, which may be reason to skip this attraction. Put Phuket Zoo and other Phuket Town attractions into our Phuket Town family vacation planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • Alas, we had not read the reviews on trip! The cages are small, clearly not happy pets, the worst was the spectacle of monkeys, poor animals! A show of elephant quite friendly and beautiful birds. The ZOO is run down and lack of maintenance. Some buildings are condemned. Frankly, there are better things to do in Phuket.

  • Describe the pros and cons of the Phuket Zoo pros: 1. animals have)))) 2. There are shows of crocodiles, monkeys and elephants. Were not only on the show. Shows with monkeys doilos' minutes 10, monkey was one, the show boring, Monkey on a leash and constantly skalilas' 3. There are bowls with feed for animals on 20 baht, fed the elephants, Bambi, crocodiles 4. Price-500 per adult, child 300 and 2-x letka free cons: 1. The first thing that catches your eye-junk, just mountains of garbage around the Zoo 2. The beasts are no manicured, and the same garbage in cells 3. What the photo with animal-pulled, permanently photo offers-elephants of all sizes, Tiger (animal trainer without hands), Python, crocodile, the Eagles 4. Surly staff 5. Food-its here, there is no water and juices, and some fast food. But looking at the sanitary conditions there are not wanted as a whole, for spending time rules, even more so when you come for a long time

  • Horrible zoo. Worst zoo I've ever been to. Poor animals are forced to do acts and treated like garbage. elephants are chained to the floor and monkeys are abused to do acts. Animals look sick and facility was totally disgusting. I held the monkeys and poor things refused to go back to the owner. It was doing everything possible to run away from them before being thrown back into a cage. Very sad place. Please don't spend the money to support such a horrible place.
  • If I can select less than one then I will be doing it. The wrost Zoo I ever been. The Zoo so dirty, lots of cages are empty. The Monkey show was discusting, the monkey was with a rope and forced to do the show, then we went to corcodile show another disaster, then we left the park without continuing the place or even to see the elephant show. The aquarium was another disaster. The place full of bad smell, insects and mosqetous.
  • This zoo is a pretty nicely run facility. You can get up close and personal with animals that other countries would never allow. For instance, "Take your photo with a Tiger". A real adult Tiger on a chain. Walk up and sit with it for a while and get your photo taken. It was tempting for me, but I'm not a cat person. The real test of a happy zoo is how the elephants are treated. While these elephants do not have enough room and are kept on chains, they didn't look abused. Ok, maybe keeping them on chains is abuse but after seeing how these animals are treated at the local Elephant Trek Adventures, seeing them relatively ok was a nice thing. There is a nice assortment of birds and most of them will take banana from you. Banana bunches are sold throughout the park for feeding animals. The Hornbills are most common here and they take food from you so slowly and gently often offering it to another bird or even back to you before eating it. Great place for kids as there are Crocodile shows, Monkey shows and Elephant shows many times a day.
  • Absolutely horrible zoo. Please do not come to this zoo. Animals are kept in terrible conditions, pacing and begging for food. Do not support this zoo
  • The zoo is not at all maintained.. The animals are kept in poor conditions. There are animals shows with monkey, crocodiles and elephants. Photo booths with an adult tiger, pythons and an orangutan. Animal exploitation at its best. Please do not entertain this kind of half-hearted money oriented places.
