Visit Phuket Zoo to see a wide variety of animals. Take photos with some of the park's most famous residents, and stroll around the ample gardens. With themed areas and an interesting layout, this zoo has become popular with international visitors, particularly younger ones. Small stands around the grounds sell cold beer or ice cream. Note that multiple visitors have reported poor conditions for the animals, which may be reason to skip this attraction. • We had not looked at the notice before, and we should have... Indeed, the zoo is in a pitiful state, completely destroyed and without any maintenance at times. They have fine animals, who do not deserve to be in such conditions, likened to torture in my point of view. Shows, I expected to explanations and feedings at home, and were overwhelmed to see that the crocodile show is to see 2 guys beat up crocodiles during 30 min! Literally, they hit them with sticks to try to make them obey! I saw not the apes, well Fortunately! I confirm the sea turtle in a basin of not even 5 m, skinny Tiger turning in circles... etc.. And the list is long! In short. We can't stop, despite the Thai culture where the animals do not have the same status as we compare to our country and to consider animals as well more than games to tourists to make money...

  • Zoo fan we all do the zoo of the countries we visit and this one we left a bitter taste. The environment could be sublime if it was maintained because there is beautiful scenery and beautiful statues but everything is dirty, everything looks in work and everything hanging around! The cages are small and dirty animals have no place and gives the impression of die of hunger! They have cute animals, but we feel they have animals in order to win money! At each corner of path here are a photo with a 200bat animals or a few bananas for 20bat if you don't buy food or do not wish you photograph by paying you are not interesting and you do not have the right to look at! An employee got even claimed 10 bat to caress the elephant! The Otter screams probably to escape! Ostriches are in a sad state in its plumage, and all have very very hungry! They have a magnificent sea turtle but in a very small pool! Bears have no green nor place it's really really sad! We saw pictures of camel and orang utan but not seen on place! The monkey show is really simple and the monkey trial constantly remove the rope around his neck! The crocodile show is nice, but the shots are too! Elephants are attached with a chain too short! Even the baby of one year don't have enough links in its chain to be able to get around more!

  • If I can select less than one then I will be doing it. The wrost Zoo I ever been. The Zoo so dirty, lots of cages are empty. The Monkey show was discusting, the monkey was with a rope and forced to do the show, then we went to corcodile show another disaster, then we left the park without continuing the place or even to see the elephant show. The aquarium was another disaster. The place full of bad smell, insects and mosqetous.
  • This zoo is a pretty nicely run facility. You can get up close and personal with animals that other countries would never allow. For instance, "Take your photo with a Tiger". A real adult Tiger on a chain. Walk up and sit with it for a while and get your photo taken. It was tempting for me, but I'm not a cat person. The real test of a happy zoo is how the elephants are treated. While these elephants do not have enough room and are kept on chains, they didn't look abused. Ok, maybe keeping them on chains is abuse but after seeing how these animals are treated at the local Elephant Trek Adventures, seeing them relatively ok was a nice thing. There is a nice assortment of birds and most of them will take banana from you. Banana bunches are sold throughout the park for feeding animals. The Hornbills are most common here and they take food from you so slowly and gently often offering it to another bird or even back to you before eating it. Great place for kids as there are Crocodile shows, Monkey shows and Elephant shows many times a day.
  • Animal exploration at its finest. If you love animals don't go here. Only interest is to make as much money from them performing as possible. Nothing going back to conservation.
  • This zoo is very poorly maintained, what few animals they have here are in poor condition. Regret wasting the time and money coming here.
  • This place mistreat its elephants. The animals are badly stressed. This zoo should be shut down and the animals moved to sanctuaries.
