Windmill Viewpoint, Phuket Town
(4.8/5 based on 85+ reviews on the web)
Nestled between two beaches, Windmill Viewpoint remains a lesser-known spot with sweeping western views over the verdant coastline, Cape Phromthep, and the island of Koh Man. Named for the tall windmills gracing the top of the lookout, this perch attracts model-airplane enthusiasts by day and a pleasantly small crowd for sunset. Amenities are few, save an occasional vendor selling drinks or jewelry. If you're driving here for one of the spectacular sunsets, note that the parking lot closes just after the sun goes down, so consider leaving the car outside the lot to enjoy the last of the day's rays stress-free. • Worth to visit. The view is very beautiful! We have a coconut water and rest for a while!

  • Road was narrow and uneven. But a good view of the blue waters on a sunny day. Many beaches along the road.
  • Great views of Nai Harn Beach, then transported to the Yanui Beach, and Cape. Ya Nui beach is about a 10-minute walk away, Nai Harn beach in about 20 minutes.

  • A fun viewpoint at the foot of an old electric windmill. Easily missed when driving by but the stop is really worth a photo
  • As opposed to Laem Phrongthep, this has way less tourists while you can enjoy pretty much the same view, but without having to fight for that perfect photography spot.
  • Pretty nice viewpoint. Right beside the beach.
  • Better than the official view point down the road... Less touristy, better view.
  • Great place to visit. Pretty crowdy during sunset, but mostly empty and romantic after midnight
