Old Phuket Town, Phuket Town
Categories: Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Go for a stroll through the colorful streets of Old Phuket Town and soak in the eclectic architecture and lively atmosphere of Thailand's former tin-mining capital. Throughout the centuries tin attracted both workers and industrialists from all over the world to Phuket, and today the old part of the city remains famous for its eclectic mix of Chinese mansions, Portuguese houses, and other historical architecture. Many of the once residential buildings now house shops, restaurants, cafes, and small museums. The neighborhood especially comes alive during the Sunday markets, when locals set up stalls with snacks and souvenirs, and street performers showcase their talents to passersby. I really love this town. In my opinion this is the most charming and pretty among the ranks of "Old towns" with the same design and details (Malacca, Penang, and Singapore).
not much to do or buy as only comes alive on Saturdays apparently. we came Tuesday but managed to find a guide who drove us around for bht100

The worst and absolutely disgusting service I have ever encountered in my life. The owner is self-righteous and money greedy. I was harassed and mentally terrorized. They were trying to take a video of me without my permission. Please do not go to this hostel. If you're looking for a cheap one, there's a lot more around the corner. Really, don't book this one.
No outside windows and a quite old bed. We didn't sleep well and changed to an other hotel for the next night.
I like this place a lot. Especially if you are young and have less money to spend the night in Phuket this place is for you. I have been their twice in the past 2 yrs and the rates have not changed. Rooms are clean with hot shower including breakfast and a nice place to read and chat in the lobby. And the place is very peaceful Also located inside old city phuket so many things are only at walking distance. One the best places you can find at low price in phuket if you dont care to stay near a hotel on the beach.
