  • It's just an ordinary market, nothing floating about it. There's a small river next to it, but not a single boat or anything else to distinguish it from the gazillion other markets in Thailand that don't market themselves as "floating markets". Just stop the false advertisement already...
  • The market expanded quite a lot since last time we visited few years ago. But it's not all good about the expansion. It loses some feeling of "local"ness. On the bright side, it has many more shops and foods. Definitely one of the best local markets in Bangkok for tourists (or even the best one).
  • Maybe it's not my kind of place. I just feel it doesn't really have anything much to offer. Nobody really seems to maintain the place or clean the water. You can just go to your local market to get the same and save the trouble driving here.
  • Don't expect vendors on boats and boat for rent but do rent bicycle and cycling around this area to the far end of the peninsular. It's still pretty charming, especially if you are comfortable with riding on narrow paths. People are friendly and helpful (yet with limited English skills, best if you bring your Thai friend with). Lots of Thai food and beverage options. Not recommended for those who are not used to local food or not comfortable with trying them. The market is opened only on weekends and public holidays, so there's a lot more people during those days (and more shops and tourist attractions opened as well). But you can find bicycle for rent everyday.
  • Not really a floating market. More like a regular market that happens to be in the vicinity of water. There are no long boats that take you from any vendor at any point. Great thing though is that not many tourists make there way here. No hygene at all though.
