Pattaya Floating Market, Pattaya

(2.5/5 based on 2,200+ reviews on the web)
Immerse yourself in quintessential Thai culture at Pattaya Floating Market, an authentic site displaying the captivating way in which fruit and vegetables have traditionally been bought and sold in the country. On wooden boats that hug the old architecture of the riverside, market vendors haggle and sell their wares before darting down the river to secure another sail. Take a trip out on an authentic rowboat to see the buildings and produce from a different perspective. Make sure to bring your camera to document the famous sight of the colorful fresh food against the murky waters. • Locally, the entrance fee per person is 200 baht. But! You would like to see the whole thing with the wooden boat from the water it will cost 800 baht per person! Should you only opt for the guided tour on foot to pay the 200 baht - we decided after the walking tour now but to take even a little boat, you'll pay the full 800 baht still on top to the already paid 200 baht. Per person probably noticed. So first decide whether to foot the market wants to be seen or can go by boat, where you still after walking. Or the whole stay but better leave, because this is all only artificially created, the shops are the same as in Pattaya and the expected boats offer the food on the water are available only at the edge and are waiting for the tourists who take the tour on foot. My Tip: visit the floating market in Bangkok! No comparison to the floating market in Pattaya. I'm mad about so much tourist rip off. Never again floating market Pattaya!

  • A huge market built on pylons and rafts. Have everything between heaven and Earth. And many places to eat. Crowded. Great humidity and very hot. Is the an attraction that's fun to gave visited, but everything is just made for tourists and a way to spend money on.

  • In comparison to other floating markets, is this easy to get around on. This market is not depending on to rent a boat and one can walk around. But it costs to get into for tourists. Thai coming in for free, but tourists will have to pay a sum of 100 baht (if I'm not mistaken) and getting a sticker that proves that you have paid. Then you can go around and look at all the different stalls. They have booths in all variations and I was lucky and got with me a thai boxing show. You can feed the fish and goats with flapping for a sum, eating insects (recommended to try at least once) and more activities-not to mention shopping. Definitely worth a trip, it was a great experience.

  • 200thb for foreigners ONLY just for getting in, what do I have to pay to spend money inside, the Vatican museum in Rome was only 400thb, unbelievable, the floating market at pattaya and huahin are way better, this one is tourist trap, non locals will fall for that, nothing really special about it.
  • This market is just only for foreigner traveller. They sell things in higher price, better just to sightseeing. Staff lookdown on thais cuz they cant get money from.
  • Pattaya Floating Market is an Artifical place. please go to Bangkok Floating Market called as Sadukan Floating Market
  • i love this place, enjoying all the local foods and manage to buy lots of unique traditional souvenirs at very reasonable price too! Event hough the surroundings is not that clean but its a great experience for travellers like me :)
  • Foreigners have to pay to enter - pretty ridiculous and clearly a tourist trap.
