Pattaya Floating Market, Pattaya

2.6
#13 of 165 in Things to do in Pattaya
Immerse yourself in quintessential Thai culture at Pattaya Floating Market, an authentic site displaying the captivating way in which fruit and vegetables have traditionally been bought and sold in the country. On wooden boats that hug the old architecture of the riverside, market vendors haggle and sell their wares before darting down the river to secure another sail. Take a trip out on an authentic rowboat to see the buildings and produce from a different perspective. Make sure to bring your camera to document the famous sight of the colorful fresh food against the murky waters. And pass a person is because I see much tourist in Pattaya, the passage is narrow for no traffic rules come under stressful conditions. Country comes in by the coach, because it is useless rules. The dining staff. You may have to leave place for the bus back to the inlet must be entered.

Really unfortunately a disappointment. Here's why: there's an admission fee, and this place really is just a uniquely placed market. The goods and foods are the same as you'd find in any other market in Pattaya, but with a slight markup. Even later in the afternoon, there are quite a few people so you'd likely have to stay in your lane and follow the arrows through the market. So in effect you're paying to exit through the gift shop, here. My opinion may have been different if I'd gone earlier in the day, there are apparently some events to watch. One thing to keep in mind is that entry appears to be a five step process...? Request a receipt with your number of tickets, take that receipt and your payment to a separate booth, hand your tickets to a third person standing next to the entry wicket ticket scanner, get stamped, and then apply a sticker to your clothing. Wat.

Wonderful place to visit. Lot many activities and attractions to enjoy at this place. Activities like ride in boat, zip line, monkey show, love bridge are few of the major attractions. This place is having an entry fee of about 1000 Thai baht, which is little on higher side.

Very neat. Not too expensive to get in (200B). All the food items are very inexpensive and very delicious. It can get crowed with tour groups. Boat rides are more expensive but come with a package deal. Definitely worth seeing.

Where to stay in Pattaya

Stay near Walking Street for lodgings closest to Pattaya's famous nightlife. Head up the coast to find quieter and bigger rooms in budget hotels or the more expensive resort-style complexes. You can also look in Soi Buakhao, where backpacker hostels and economical hotels offer easy access to main attractions, activities, and facilities.
