Pattaya Floating Market, Pattaya

2.6
Immerse yourself in quintessential Thai culture at Pattaya Floating Market, an authentic site displaying the captivating way in which fruit and vegetables have traditionally been bought and sold in the country. On wooden boats that hug the old architecture of the riverside, market vendors haggle and sell their wares before darting down the river to secure another sail. Take a trip out on an authentic rowboat to see the buildings and produce from a different perspective. Make sure to bring your camera to document the famous sight of the colorful fresh food against the murky waters. Pattaya Floating Market is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Pattaya Edition.

  • Was with my Thai escort there. One paid admission to see stalls. Chinese tour groups which will be carted with buses abound. The whole system is artificially created for tourists. The food in the restaurants was average and the service very bad. Just don't go!

  • This place is an amazing experience. I went with a group of nine people. We had to pay 1500 baht. This is the only reason I did not give the market a 5 star rating. The market starts with you riding in a boat going to various markets. A lot of the markets have the same items. Bargain, bargain, and bargain. Do not buy anything for the initial price. They will come down on price for any item! Next we ate food. It was decent but not the best. The food was inexpensive so I did not expect much. Then we went back to shopping. There is a huge store that has a lot of thing. I would say wait until you buy things from here. Also when you get to the end of the market, the prices really come down for obvious reasons lol. We then traveled through the canals and on to the big river. I enjoy the scenery! It was an amazing experience. Our last stop was to visit the temples. This was very nice as well. Take lots of pictures and videos!!
  • This review is written from the point of view of a photographer and what the same should expect to see. The floating market is a really good place to take some great shots as there are many shops, stalls, kiosks to stop at, and many activities to witness, so keep your camera clicking. OK, so apart from the boat rides that you take, you can savour the many local delicacies available. You can choose to have your Tom Yum soup on one of the wooden platforms and wait for it as it is being prepared on a boat while smelling the rich fragrances coming from everywhere. You could also try some bird eggs 😃 or crocodile or scorpion if you fancy that 🤧 In addition, you have countless opportunities to take some really great pics of the vendors or even the passers-by. Then again, this is Thailand, how can you forgive yourself if you do not pamper yourself with some massage, or perhaps choose to have your feet cleaned by fish in a foot spa. Let me also add here that there is a zip line that holds up to 90kg. Even though I weighed 90 on their scale (without the camera 📷😅), they told me it wasn't safe for my weight. Confusing, right? Anyway, no big deal. I paid 900 baht for my ticket which included riding the amphibious boat. Lastly, you get to meet new people and perhaps make friends. All in all, go there, you won't regret it.
  • A nice journey through boat to the floating market. There will be entry fees. A boat will take you to the end of the market, you will enjoy the ride and see the beauty and shop adjacent to the lake. Once you reach to end you can come to the starting point by walk. Shop, enjoy and taste food. Items are bit costly compare to Pattaya market. It's a good experience.
  • Quite possibly the best place to shop for souvenirs and memorabilia in Pattaya, for a variety of reasons: 1. It a novel twist on the usual back-street shopping area a tourism-intensive city usually has, with the numerous shops spread along the banks of a river, with a wooden dock-esque aura surrounding it. 2. As mentioned previously, a vast variety of shops selling all kinds of products, from designer clothes to the elusive yet traditional hand-carved, wooden frogs, potentially the most famous Thai souvenirs. 3. Most of the shopkeepers are locals trying to run a small business, so your shopping there, if you choose to believe in the premise, might rope in some good karma. 4. The boat rides in the river in itself is a unique experience and perspective into Thailand's cultural history.
  • I went to this place in early morning time as most of my friends were sleeping and do not interested to visit this place. Every inch of this place are well planned and neat and clean, as a photography enthusiast I always attract towards colours and As I feels the colour is the powerful tools of communication, Thailand’s colour theme is mostly the Golden Yellow and Red, which gives us warm, exciting, Happy and alive feeling. This market is a well organised and well maintained market with a lot of niche commodities Don’t visit this place in rush hours and travel to this place with no luggage
