Pattaya Floating Market, Pattaya

2.5
#4 of 13 in Sightseeing in Pattaya
Landmark Tourist Spot
Immerse yourself in quintessential Thai culture at Pattaya Floating Market, an authentic site displaying the captivating way in which fruit and vegetables have traditionally been bought and sold in the country. On wooden boats that hug the old architecture of the riverside, market vendors haggle and sell their wares before darting down the river to secure another sail. Take a trip out on an authentic rowboat to see the buildings and produce from a different perspective. Make sure to bring your camera to document the famous sight of the colorful fresh food against the murky waters. • Here you can find lot of local food and a little part of old Siam culture mixed with some other activities like a over water death ride and monkey shows. Although it's better to go there to watch more than to by because of the high prices justified by the cars full of tourist bringing A LOT of them there.
  • Nice place.. But it's kinda small.. There r few activist u can do... But the food is a must.. Great food... Try eating in the traditional thai way....
  • Mango juice and mango sticky rice is a must try, buy after the entrance. The paintings are amazing. Unique food are available along with the Thai souvenirs.
  • Not a real floating market. Just shops to sale souvenir. It's so hot just to walk around. No air circulation. The water is so dirty looking. If you fall into that water you may end up with extra tentacles. Not worth the time or the fees for entrance. You can shop for souvenir anywhere in Pattaya cheaper and not as hot.
  • Its a tourist place with a little taken from Thailand's actual floating markets. This place is good to find tourist-y items for reasonable prices with some bargaining. The entry price is too steep (200 baht per person/800 baht per person for boat) for the value offered.
