Freedom Beach, Patong

4.1
#2 of 8 in Parks in Kathu
Relax in a secluded and peaceful environment at Freedom Beach. Accessible by long-tail boat, this spot benefits from shallow water with fantastic visibility, ideal for spotting the area's colorful marine life and snapping a few pictures. Play beach soccer against the locals, or head up to one of the pleasant bars that overlook the beach. The location remains one of the relatively few tranquil beaches around Phuket, so head here for a little peace and quiet (and remember to keep it a secret). • We went on freedom Beach on a scooter. He caught a dirt road located on the road between patong and Karon. Arrival at the end of path one can let the scooter and continue on foot is doing a right of passage to 200 bats per person. The path and very hung so thinking back that makes good sweat. On the beach see little shade not of the early unless you rent a Deckchair shaded back from beach. On the left side to the restaurant can go snorkeling, there are lot of small coral fish. On the right side the most beautiful water Beach and translucent and white sand. It's wonderful. Good discovery.

  • Take a boat there! Best way to do it, and worth the fee to be on the beach. Amazing views, perfect water, and snacks. Just be sure to take the boats (much more enjoyable then a tuk tuk off roading)  more »

  • Nice beach that's accessible only by foot or by boat. White sand, clear water, but with dead corals already in shallow water. Nice rocks and palm trees on the right side of the beach. There's many boats and many people, so don't count on being there alone. If you come by foot, you have a 5 minute trek from the parking area through the woods, so wear better shoes than flip flops. If you arrive by foot the entrance fee is 200 baht per person. Free if you arrive by boat. Nice sunset.
  • The freedom beach in Phuket is accessible by long walk or by long boat to go there in fort. The water is clear blue and clean no seaweeds in the water when I went to swim. No much people around in other word not crowded and so beautiful and nice beach. It's a little bit far from Patong beach which is more crowded to people. If you want to go this beach you need to bring your own foods and drinks because there's no vendors selling foods. There is one small restaurant where you can buy foods and drinks but little expensive. Bringing foods and drinks much easier and safer. Goodluck to you and enjoy.
  • Beautiful beach but following this google maps link leads you to a very bumpy dirt road accessible by scooter or car if you go slow. Once you park you pay 200bht for access and they give you a bottle of water. It’s about a 10min trek down hill to the beach, some parts like trekking in the jungle with steep areas that have ropes to hold onto. The trek out takes a bit longer since all up hill. I don’t recommend trekking out in the heat of the day, better around 5pm before sunset. note: there is another way to get to the beach besides this route that is a bit easier. You can hire a taxi to take you there. Still a steep climb down but not as long. I didn’t find any food vendors on the beach and they want 100bht for a coconut. I recommend bringing some fruit or nuts to eat discretely.
  • Probably the best beach on Phuket Island. No polution, no large buildings and a long uphill walk through the jungle keeps a lot of people away. Pristine white sand and clear blue water.
  • We got to this beach on foot. It requires a lot of effort. We were exhausted after this kind of a hike. When we got there we saw a bamboo kiosk with random people requiring to pay 200B each to enter the beach. When we asked what is this for? and what we will get in return? They said that we can't bring water, food or any other trash in the beach it is forbidden because this beach is protected. These people didn't have any badges, no t-shirts with signs. They look as a bunch of racketeers asking to pay for crossing the territory. I wouldn't mind paying this fee if in the beach would be no trash and trash boxes would be installed. However the beach surroundings are full of plastic and trash. The Freedom beach itself I would rate very good because it has white sand and turquoise color water. This beach is a very popular and there is a lot of people. The majority of them reach this beach by long tail boat or Tuk-tuk. Despite the requirements for the food in the beach there is a small restaurant where you can get a lunch.
