Mor Paeng Waterfall, Pai

2.9
#4 of 7 in Nature in Pai
The scenic hike to Mor Paeng Waterfall and the panoramic view from the height of the rock make this a rewarding attraction from start to finish. Take the easy walking trail through lush forestry to the fall. The water rushes down a crevice in the gently sloping rock face, creating a shallow swimming pool below. Bring your bathing suit to dip into the cool waters, or picnic on the rocks while taking in some of the sun's rays. Note that the highly popular waterfall tends to get crowded as the day goes on. • These are the less beautiful water falls of Pai (3 in all). Very easy to access, but honestly there are better to do. The place is dirty, if you want to swim, a Board wash fast after. I do not recommend it.

  • The views were amazing but the waterfall was a little disappointing during the dry season (to be expected). Worth a stop if you are close by.  more »
  • Friggin awful high waterfall the waterfall la expect big falls, streams of water flow was a little disappointed by the waterfall trickling munyiman! During the rainy season when the water is flowing out to the gurgling and dip and cool when you need to go to the dry season, the scenery shows unlikely bother.

  • Beautiful small waterfall. I recommend going a few days after it rains to make sure you have water. There’s an area where you can slide down to, or rocks to hang out around.
  • Awesome waterfall! Plenty of rock climbing and scrambling to do and even a waterslide! Amazing! There were also a lot of young Thai children playing by the waterfall and they were making bamboo ropes to help everyone climb up the slippery rocks which was quite sweet. We had a great time here. I even dropped my glasses in the water and the Thai children around expertly found them. I still have no idea how! It is only a short walk from the car park down a few steps and if you dont want to do any rock scrambling there are great views of the waterfall from the bottom too :)
  • Nice place to visit. We were there on a weekend and there was a lot of local kids having fun in the water
  • The water wasn't really clear. I guess in the wet months it runs a bit faster. It's nice to have a dip in. And there's a natural water slide which is fun (although dangerous) to go down.
  • I'm surprised this is rated so low as it was the coolest walk I've ever done, despite not reaching the waterfall because I didn't realise it was a THREE hour walk to reach the waterfall and back. From what I heard from people that made it, the waterfall was unimpressive, but I still think the walk would make it worth it if you're into that sort of thing. Bring versatile walking shoes that can get wet like Tevas cause you'll spend a lot of time wading in the water - taking your socks and shoes off and on again is going to eat up a lot of time.
