Monument
Pay a visit to the symbol of the city at Thao Suranaree (Ya Mo) Monument. Thao Suranaree, or Grandma Mo as she's affectionately called, is remembered as a hero in Thailand for saving her hometown from Laotian invaders. When you pass by, you can often see both locals and visitors paying their respects to the statue, praying and making offerings such as flower wreaths and incense. Tip your hat to the iconic heroine of the city and then take some time to people-watch: the monument stands in the very center of the city and locals gather around the statue day and night. Put Thao Suranaree (Ya Mo) Monument and other Nakhon Ratchasima attractions into our Nakhon Ratchasima trip itinerary planner, and watch your holiday take shape.
