Wat Samret, Maret

(4.7/5 based on a few reviews on the web)
Samret can be translated as "success" in English, and many locals go to Wat Samret to pray for achieving their goals. Amble inside to view the ornate architecture of Buddhist Thai architecture. As you enter, view the number of stone Buddha sculptures sitting in golden garments and also the white jade statue reclining, where it is said the first structure was built about a 100 years ago. • I must say that I was possitivt surprised by Wat Samret. A very peaceful place to just wander around. There is a almost a little mysterious room filled with buddha statues, the largest of which with their 3 line is rumored to be purchased from India. The area has a the highest and oldest tree on all Koh Samui, it is over 30 meters high and over 500 years old. Well worth a visit!
