Samret can be translated as "success" in English, and many locals go to Wat Samret to pray for achieving their goals. Amble inside to view the ornate architecture of Buddhist Thai architecture. As you enter, view the number of stone Buddha sculptures sitting in golden garments and also the white jade statue reclining, where it is said the first structure was built about a 100 years ago. Dress appropriately, covering shoulders and legs, as monks work here. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Wat Samret by using our Maret trip planner.

  • This temple is located on the edge of the "Ring Road" 4169 to 800 m on the left after the intersection with the 4170 from Lamai, in the South of Koh Samui. Then take the small road on your left at the level of the Panel "Radio Samui". After 300 m, you arrive in front of a monumental gate in the form of lotus with a Buddha image on the pediment. The space is occupied by a variety of buildings. The first wooden Thai-style, two-tiered, serves as a dining hall. On the right, you can see graves of monks lined up, but different styles. In front a small Pavilion of fine workmanship, imposes itself with its classical thai style and his many decorations in polychrome mosaic. The najas frame the entry and balustrades are decorated with sculptures in arabesques. If we continue the progress, we see that other buildings of different styles are present, including a tower of gong to quite original prayer call. Then, a mausoleum in masonry, represents a mountain style Kmer. Next door, a high Pavilion roof sloping with 3 levels and the shimmering decorations, is particularly beautiful. It is very classic thaI style, with its decorations, its mosaics and its moldings in reverse lotus. And finally, this is what makes the object of interest of this visit, some for of course. A fairly simple Lodge, framed side entrance, by two great "Yak", is home to a fairly unique set of Buddhas in various attitudes, which one in the position of the achievement of nirvana, i.e. lying. This "cave" where "vault" in English, is amazing as unusual. This room is dark, is it adds to the mysterious side of this space. We can continue the visit to the premises, as other surprises await you, including a tank of pageantry on wheels used to ceremonies. A set of graves, under shadows, give an impression of serenity to this part of the temple.

  • Visit this temple was recommended to us by a local employee of the hotel. The atmosphere is pleasantly quiet, hardly any other tourists, more than some monks who meditate in the shade of trees. Wat Samret is a wonderful Temple and very great distance. Interesting is also the urn cemetery.

  • A large gate welcomes you (as often) to get in a courtyard where you can find several temples (closed for most), dogs (no problem) and... person. We were able to walk there quietly. Only one, a building is open and inside, there are many statutes of Buddha. A nice walk in a quiet and relaxing place.

  • Beautiful not popular temple with many buddha statues. Good feeling
  • It's a quite temple with a school and graveyard attached. Skip it if you're pressed for time.
  • Place covered with magic. When we got there, there was nobody except us. Like went to visit the monks. Temples in the territory set, all incredibly beautiful, sparkle and shimmer in the Sun. Zest-this room with statues, in the evening probably there wildly creepy. Beware of mosquitoes! They're very hungry. And we were lucky enough to see the babies!

  • Atmosphere as soon as you come to the statues. Joyful sobakeny run ironed. But even in this place there is a Geocaching;) on the territory of several churches and a cemetery. All the temples on the island very similar to each other. Like sobakeny:) There is a Lake, you can slowly overtake the scooter, I highly recommend you do so.

  • A beautiful temple but it's pretty worn out, there is a nice view if you walk down to the beach, it is not handicap friendly.
