  • Wat Ban Den the architecture of this temple has many Chinese traits. With dragons, Chinese horoscope, roosters and several other symbolism present in Chinese culture. Why: the Kingdom of Lanna, centered in northern Thailand where today are the cities of Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, was a Kingdom far invaded. Up for your geographic position account. So you can easily find many influences from neighbouring countries and peoples. Traces of Chinese architecture are much more common than in temples of the South, from the Kingdom Ayutthaya. After a handwriting of invasions to go through 200 years under Burmese domination. During this period several temples were destroyed, stolen Buddhas and the country went through several drafts to get back part of the Kingdom of Siam. We're just summarizing very superficially it all so that you can understand the architecture of the region of Chiang Mai and understand the influences of your architecture. I was very surprise to each temple that were. And even with the overdose since we visited in Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Bangkok, I assure you: it is you learn a lot every visit.

  • Located about 50 kms from Chiang-Mai, this temple is splendid. There are many buildings and 12 pagodas (cheddis) dedicated to the 12 animals of the zodiac. Many buildings are very beautiful outwardly, but also with an interior of the most munificent. Fabulous animals who keep the temples are very colourful and kitsch that's original. Still not too overrun with tourists it would be a shame to visit there. Count between 2 to 3 hours for a full tour of the whole.

  • The temple is not just around the corner, but once you reach it you will be rewarded with a really great temple plant. The many colourful characters reminiscent of Walt Disney are but not corny but beautiful in every detail.

  • Very ornate and beautiful temple complex not too far outside Chiang Mai. Can be busy with visitors, but I've gone in the later part of the day and it was quite peaceful.
  • This is a stunning and very big temple complex set in a very small village among rice fields about one hour north of Chiang Mai. It is a must see for all visitors to this part of Thailand. The wood work is superb, it has some very different looking dragons at the entrances, and different style (from around SE Asia) pagodas. Absolutely beautiful, do not miss this opportunity.
  • Big and beautiful temple. Worth visiting it!
  • Stunning temple, serene and clean. Worth for visiting.
  • Its wonderful temple you need rent car to reach it...if you visit chaing mai you must visit it ....i hope for you great day
