Where to stay in Mae Hong Son

Though Mae Hong Son generally lacks accommodations that are anything other than functional, you can expect to find acceptable lodgings here--especially if you're a budget-conscious backpacker. These mostly come in the form of clean, no-frills rooms in guesthouses or hostels. Be prepared for prices to fluctuate, rising during the popular season (between November and January). If you're able and willing to spend a little more, explore the more upscale midrange options on the outskirts of the town center.

  • We loved this place a few miles away from Mae Hong Son, the setting is beautiful and we would love to go back when the rice is mature, a nice free discovery for us
  • Amazing manmade bamboo bridge, made by unshakable fate and believe.
  • Nice place to take a walk along the bridge over the rice paddy.
  • Not sure why the hype about this place. It is just a rebuilt causeway over a small river and rice paddy. The drive there was nice though. But driving anywhere around here is nice.
  • We went at around 8am+, it was quiet and only a handful of other tourist. No admission fees, some quirky looking guardians statue and coffee vendors who spoke nice english.
