Doi Tung Royal Villa, Mae Fa Luang

(4.4/5 based on 300+ reviews on the web)
Once a summer home of the Princess mother, Doi Tung Royal Villa now serves as a museum to highlight her charity work with local tribal people. Somdej Phra Srinagarindra worked to provide education in return for the eradication of opium production, which was replaced with crops of coffee, nuts, and fruit. Upon entering the museum, grab an audio guide for a detailed self-guided tour. Be sure to check out the Mae Fah Luang Gardens below the villa, and admire bundles of tropical flowers.
