Phi Phi Islands, Krabi Town
(3.1/5 based on 4,200+ reviews on the web)
On Phi Phi Islands you can snorkel through clear waters, explore uninhabited natural areas, or hit the sand after sunset for laid-back beach parties. Initially settled by Muslim fishermen in the 1940s, the islands have since become popular with international travelers, resulting in a lively tourism sector. A strong nightlife and partying scene has emerged here since the early 1990s. When you visit, be aware that the volume of tourists has had some detrimental effects on the environment; be respectful and look to leave no footprint. Put Phi Phi Islands into our Krabi Town family vacation planner and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • Thank goodness I only booked for 2 nights. I wouldn't have lasted a day longer. the story of phi phi now we must divide it into 2 ere "pre and post tsunami.". speaking for half an hour with a Frenchman who has his wife, told me that before the tsunami, this island was just some little bar and just diving and excursions. After the tsunami many European entrepreneurs have taken advantage of the fact that almost everyone is dead to arrive on the island and build in abandoned zones or no one could claim ... 10 years from now the island has changed dramatically, becoming a destination for young tourists who come here just to get drunk and make this island the Toyland. in fact if you booked a hotel downtown, forget to sleep at night if you have room overlooking the street as screams and noises are the agenda. It felt like being in Ibiza I swear ... drunk people everywhere. 75% British ... prices double in Patong ... Island filthy ... smells like manure anywhere. eat obscene ... you eat really badly ... locals rude that you inbufalisce at all (I think because now tired of the continual tourists grumpy). Only note on the island, the beach opposite the harbour. then nothing else. the 2 stars only that, otherwise I would have put one ...

  • Islands and fantastic places, but so many people makes them sometimes unbearable, sometimes the boats are so many that there is no place to dive, arrival at Maya Beach is divine if we have the ability and imagination to think that we are alone ... too bad we're not ... anyway ... a place MÁÁÁÁGICO and IMPEEEEERDIVEL in life ... I feel a major pla visit

  • Phi Phi Iceland is worth a visit. We had a very nice and a quiet resort on the upper end of the island. To reach the harbour by all ships is a walk of approx. 6 km, but who's in itself when one takes the path through the jungle so as I said at the beginning, it is wonderfully quiet and Super relaxing outside the arrival point. In the turquoise-blue waters, you can discover super snorkeling and lots of fish and creatures of the sea! Wonderful I can sagen...einziger Downer were the many mosquitoes!
