Mosquito Island, Ko Phi Phi Don
(3.8/5 based on 300+ reviews on the web)
A little off the beaten path, Mosquito Island remains something of a hidden gem for snorkeling. The sixth and last island in the Phi Phi group, this remote spot offers exceptional collections of animal and marine life, including plenty of colorful schools of fish. Take a short boat ride from the town and snorkel right off the deck. The clear turquoise water contrasts against the rocks rising above its surface, making a perfect photo op. Because of the shallow waters, try to time your visit with high tide, when the coral is just 3 m (10 ft) below. Closer to the shore the coral reveals some wear and tear, but if you venture farther out you will be nicely surprised. Put Mosquito Island into our Ko Phi Phi Don travel itinerary planner and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • We went in November 2016, but we can't get down on the island because it was closed to visitation, so we look away but we can't see straight.

  • The island is beautiful, it is forbidden! It's not worth it, usually they take you on the sidewalk with Bamboo Island, but found expendable

  • Beautiful spot to scuba dive or snorkel. The amount of sea life that you see in one spot is phenomenal. Highly recommended if you are into sea activities.
