#2 of 6 in Nature in Ko Lanta
National Park Nature / Park
At the southern tip of Ko Lanta Yai, Mu Koh Lanta National Park boasts a gorgeous beach and mountainous terrain popular with hikers, sunbathers, and divers. You'll enter at the top of a steep hill, which you can descend by car or along the nature trail instead. At the bottom, you'll see a conspicuous old lighthouse on a hill jutting into the sea. Hike up to the lighthouse or simply relax on the white-sand beach, where the clear, calm water is perfect for swimming. Be careful not to leave your bags unattended on the sand, however, because the unscrupulous resident monkeys will eagerly search them for food. • Our kids were excited to go to walk in the forest and see qqes monkeys but barely a few steps of the staircase mounted, we have done literally surrounded by a dozen of very aggressive monkeys. With a stick, we managed to push some and do turn running for us to escape. A fright for children and adults. The walk should be made with a Park Ranger who knew how to react. We paid for not much... Be vigilant...

  • Open motorcycle was interesting, not too many man-made landscape in the Park, in addition to an abandoned lighthouse. Animals a lot, see different species of monkeys, monitor lizards. There is a mountain path, mainly to see the plant.

  • We took the MOP and lunch on the way, then visit that don't actually gave more than a meeting with the monkeys. On the way back, we watched the sunset on a near-deserted Beach, then get cozy at any good restaurant. It brightened the journey more than the destination.

  • The most exquisite beach with turquoise water. Swings hanging from the palm trees on the beach. A beautiful 2km nature trail through the jungle. Beautifully manicured lawns / gardens. Lots of monkeys jumping from the trees into the water and swimming. A joy to watch, but they are very aggressive. Hang on to your bags, clothes, water bottles!
  • Good view from Light house, nice Beach. Beware of monkeys, but do not be scared. They are trying their luck. Bastards. Nature trail is just bad joke, concrete in rainforest. Rather go to tiger cave And waterfall. IT is more authentic experience. Not worth 200 baths. Believe me.
  • Good views from the light house and a few other spots, but nothing more than that. The drive to the place is really nice though. Be care full on the lighthouse hill, there are no safety railings there.
  • Nice beach and slightly exciting walk to the lighthouse. The nature trail is ok but does not provide very good viewpoints and becomes slippery with rain. The ranger at the entrance fee was not friendly and just wanted us to pay and move on.
  • Was a wonderful view point from the lighthouse and 2 diverse beaches. Because its a national park, the sandy beach was gorgeous without the crowds. The Nature trail is 1.7 km, the sign says takes 2 hours but took us about 40 minutes. However, we walked right past the "so called viewpoint" as it was just a peak through trees and the rest of the trail was more through a jungle highlighting types of trees. I would pass next time on the nature hike. The monkeys are quite aggressive. They watch the beach for new people and then when you go swimming start going through your bags to find food. At the food cafe they literally steal ice cream from your hand. Was expecting snorkeling from the reviews, but there was little snorkeling and shallow with lots of rocks.
