Create an itinerary including Mu Koh Lanta National Park
At the southern tip of Ko Lanta Yai, Mu Koh Lanta National Park boasts a gorgeous beach and mountainous terrain popular with hikers, sunbathers, and divers. You'll enter at the top of a steep hill, which you can descend by car or along the nature trail instead. At the bottom, you'll see a conspicuous old lighthouse on a hill jutting into the sea. Hike up to the lighthouse or simply relax on the white-sand beach, where the clear, calm water is perfect for swimming. Be careful not to leave your bags unattended on the sand, however, because the unscrupulous resident monkeys will eagerly search them for food. • Great space to get out, walk, and explore. Went with 3 kids (4,7,10 yrs). Walk around park was nice and easy (3km). Small walk to lighthouse was beautiful at sunset. As expected, two price Thailand national park prices.
  • The trail in the park has steep inclines and many termites on the trail. Closed toe shoes would be ideal for the hike. Also mosquito repellent is recommended. I would agree that it's not suitable for young children. There are some steep dropoffs and slick spots. Bring water. We did see monkeys, but no close encounter. We saw a silver legless snake, large millipede, and a plant with bright blue leaves. I enjoyed the hike, it was quite the experience!
  • Half way through the trail we asked ourselves why we are actually hiking at 40°C while there was nothing to see. Paid 400B for 2 persons for a beach where we cannot even swim...we came all the way from the north and it was absolutely not worth it. Rather spend the money and time on a good restaurant with good view next to a beach where you can swim. If we knew it was like this we probably wouldn't have come even if it was for free.
  • Worth a visit. Nice views from the lighthouse. Happy to report that foreigners with pink ID card are allowed in for Thai price.
  • It is small. The beach is rocky. The views are incredible. The bathroom has no TP in it. Far away from local centers better beaches other places and 200baht price tag.
