Lanta Old Town, Ko Lanta

3.7
Stroll along the beach, browse the souvenir shops, and eat freshly caught seafood at Lanta Old Town, an ethnically diverse area with Chinese merchants, local Thai fishing families, and an ancient Sea Gypsy community. You can catch a long-tail boat tour of the island or a mangrove tour from the waterfront, or embark upon a snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, or kayaking trip. Many years ago, Ko Lanta's Old Town acted as an important port and commercial center for the island, providing a safe stopping place for vessels sailing between Phuket, Penang, and Singapore. • Reminds a little towns in the old West, traders dock you but with a smile and without emphasis. Pretty typical city where you can eat for not expensive with the Thai service.

  • To put that will change the way in which new construction more. Some or part of the building, which is more likely to occur at all. The restaurant building is filed into the sea. See a rarely beautiful much, but Mimi is. Casual for transportation in the area, whether they are tourists or locals themselves. See the clutter seems to be making a one-way bus for villagers or parking outside and walk to visit or purchase is better for tourists. Another part is the taxi Park circle, hold off. Make driving difficult, for the better.

  • It must go through the kitchen to lead back on a great view of the stilts and the neighbouring islands. The meal was very correct and justified price, this the mother who made the kitchen and the children at the service. Nice for lunch

  • We tasted their sweet rice desserts yesterday. It was sooooo delicious! We plan to go back and get a full dinner soon. The people are very friendly there. They put up a fan to cool our baby, were smiling and spike English. Can totally recommend this place.
  • Good
  • Great, a very spacious House with rooms, a janitor who does not speak English, but who is are all very friendly and very helpful! Especially since the hotel is located next to a restaurant where the owners are very friendly and really loves. You'll cry leaving them!
