Wildlife Area
Visit an important community-based project at Lanta Animal Welfare, a center committed to animal welfare, treatment, and care. Take a couple of the dogs for a walk along the picturesque beach, and pet animals in a safe, ethical environment. These creatures have lived hard lives before their stay at the institute, and love affection. If you find a new best friend you simply cannot part with, look into the adoption program for these vulnerabe inhabitants. Make Lanta Animal Welfare a centerpiece of your Ko Lanta vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Ko Lanta tour planner.

  • Watching those abused dogs sheltered with the people who really care about them and have the sufficient knowledge to assist their life and even give them a second one. This animal welfare foundation is truly a bless to Koh Lanta and the cats and dogs here. I strongly recommend anyone who visit the island to pay a visit and learn their stories. You won't be disappointed. If you are willing to contribute to the mission, you can help as being a flight volunteer to bring the dogs to reunite with their new adopting family oversea. All in all, I really feel that this is the must visit place for anyone!
  • Beautiful place! The animals here are treated amazing! I wish all animal shelters were this well staffed and operated!
  • The volunteers were kind people, it was quite busy though even for low season, it is possible to cuddle cats, walk dogs etc. You can follow a tour through the welfare. The animals have a quite spacious living area.
  • Amazing place - go visit! Adopt a cat or dog - or at least donate. Animal welfare and adoption centre - not a tourist attraction. Go to support and spread the word
  • We're really glad we stopped by. The tour gave us a glimpse into the important work this organization does and we got to play with cats for a bit. If you're an animal lover, come enjoy an hour or two here but keep in mind it's a non-profit organization and not a spectacle.
