  • Chao Phraya River is an island in the upper reaches. Must enter by boat because it is an island. A lot of the local people coming to the dating course, lots of local people. Similar to other markets and selling products similar to the market.

  • Loved this sleepy enclave, you have to be here early during the weekends from Saturdays & Sundays to enjoy the sights & sounds of the sedated markets which is not noisy. We rented bicycles to go throu...  more »
  • It takes an hour to get to the pier from which the ferry takes you to the Ko Kret island, if you are visiting Bangkok for short time I would not recommend spending a day visiting this island. We are a...  more »

  • We had a great time at the Ko Kret markets yesterday. Very friendly shop keepers and a good range of products. And the pottery was really amazing. Thanks!
  • Openair markets with a lot of streetfoods, deepfried fish cake, thaisweets for example. Popular activities once you are at the Koh Kred is potpouri process making. People and shopkeepers here are friendly. Bargain is the way we do actually.
  • We went there on week day as we knew that it won't have many shop open but it even less shop open than we thought. Personally recommended should go there on weekend as every shop will open and have more variety for selection. But if you like to see just daily life living of villagers then visit on week day cuz it wasn't crowded at all!! Good exercise for bicycling riding though. However, the ferry is very chill and relax with very cheap price in the world just only 2 baht for going to the island and another 2 baht for returning from the island!! Total 4 baht. Very cheap!! Recommended!!
  • Koh Kret is an island 20 km north of Bangkok, which is located in Chao Phraya and is great for a day trip. You can take a bus (number 155 or 505) from the Victory Monument or the shopping mall Central World to Pak Kret or the green flag Chao Phraya Express boat. Both are very cheap options. From Pak Kret Station it is only a few meters to the ferry terminal where the ferry will take you to the island for 5 Baht. The island with temples and lots of food stalls you can super around in 2-3 hours on foot. When I was there Chao Phraya had flooded half of the island, which did not prevent me from circumnavigating it. The island itself is known as a place where Mon people stayed and for its pottery. A nice day trip from the city of angels.
  • Nice island to walk around. You will need more time than you think. Prepared to spend at least 2 to 3 hours in the island.
