Set against lush rolling hills, the white sandy beach of Koh Kradan slopes gently into the bright blue sea. The beach serves as a popular snorkeling spot, and at low tide the sandbars stretch out in natural piers. Less populated than its counterparts, this spot lacks the bustle of its neighboring fishing villages. The handful of resorts here means that restaurant options can be pricey, so bring your own snacks if you're on a budget. Snap pictures of the colorful longtail boats anchored just offshore, and laze in one of the hammocks suspended from the trees. We went here during the Songkran (Thai New Year) holidays and expected it to be with a lot of tourists but surprised that there weren't much. If you want to enjoy your time by the beach and relax, this island is the place to go. Perfect for escaping the busy city, relaxing by the shore, actually enjoying the beach and reading a book. Quiet island with clear waters. Tide goes really low midday and you can walk your way to the snorkelling areas. You have to be aware of the corals and sea urchins along the way! Best to catch the sun set at Sunset beach and the sun rise along Kalume.
Ko Kradan is surrounded by crystal clear water. Snorkeling here is beautiful - You can see plenty of small coloured fish. Beside that, walking the beautiful beaches and reading a few books there is not a lot to do. So this island could be the perfect getaway from daily westerners hectic life.
Koh Kradan is a beautiful little jungle island. There are no cars or roads, and only one tiny minimart near the main resorts, but it’s lovely to spend a few days in peaceful (aside from the weird siren bugs) isolation. Sunset Beach is, unsurprisingly, great for sunset! In the morning the tide is up too far to enjoy it much, especially with submerged rocks all along the beach and a lot of rubbish on the sand and in the water. However, once the tide has drawn out it is a beautiful place for a swim! We enjoyed swimming and then reading on the sand as the sun set one particular evening. We tried snorkelling here but couldn’t find anything - may have been looking in the wrong place! Kradan (Main) Beach is nice all day - when the tide is high it makes a great spot to laze on the sand listening to the close by waves, watching crabs, or going for a snorkel, although the water can be a little dirty then with some rubbish - when the tide is low it’s great for a walk along the length of the island, exploring the rocks, and snorkelling is still possible. Although I will say that it is a very popular location for day tourists to come and spend the first half of the day - boat after boat of them pulled up when we were there, which somewhat disturbed the peace. Overall, aside from the disturbing amount of rubbish on the beaches at times (which we spent a disheartening hour trying to clear) the water is mostly clear, blue and refreshing, and the beaches nice. The jungle is muggy, full of mosquitoes and difficult, if not impossible, to navigate unless you are super adventurous and have some method of clearing a path, so better to just leave it be and enjoy the beaches when you can. There aren’t any food options on the island aside from the resorts so food is pricey, but the food at Paradise Lost is excellent, and I’ve heard good things about the food at The Seven Seas. In conclusion, if you’re looking for some peaceful time away from the party islands or the masses of tourists, this island may be what you’re looking for.
Actually, this island is a part of 4 islands one-day tour. And we had lunch on the beach of Ko Kradan. I guess it’s the most beautiful beach of this area. The sea is quite clear and the sand is soft. Cluster of fish swims near the beach. This island is the most impressive site of 4 islands tour. And it is a paradise of snorkeling.
Pretty quiet island in the off season. Limited options for food and places to go out. Nice for a couple of days to relax . The beach is good but when the tide goes out there is nowhere to swim. There was a nice spot under an over hanging tree to swim and avoid the sun but only when the tide was in. There are nicer islands to go to but it was ok.
