  • The birds can fly, but the giraffe, the zebra, the lion, the tiger and other wild animals don't belong behind the fences. It was most frustrating to see how stressed the tigers were. Don't support, st...  more »
  • Real nice zoo. We started with an tour by the bus but choose to rent an golf car afterwards to be able to stop where we wanted. 300 baht/hour and 2 hours may be enough. Zoo is growing, construction al...  more »

  • While it's a huge place, you can hire golf carts or go on a slow bus tour around the Zoo. The layout is fantastic. They have an amazing selection of animals from all over the World. My partner absolutely loved, especially when she was able to get out and pat some (many) Deer. Seeing the look on her face just made it for me. Absolutely thrilled I actually took the time to go Get there, enjoy in the marvel of our animal kingdom
  • I'm not a great fan of zoos but this seems like one of the better ones I have been to in Thailand. I like that it is spread out and that the animals have more room to roam than in some zoos. Lots of information about the animals is on signs. I also like that the modest entrance fee (100 baht for Thai or people with Thai driving license, 50 baht to park car) is all you need to pay. There aren't hawkers everywhere selling photo ops or extra fees to see some animals (there are a couple of places to do photos and a couple of places you can pay to feed livestock, but not to the extent of most other zoos I have been to). Several species of deer are in more open areas that you can drive/walk through and get up close and personal with them. Some negatives: Some of the displays are empty and unkempt. The deer populations seem a bit high for the space. Not a lot of people to help you find your way around when you first get there.
  • The Zoo is situated 50k north of Khon Kaen half way to Udon Thani following Highway 2 in a park nestled around a lake. Various animals are on display, some of them are roaming freely. It is recommended to either use a guided tourbus or rent a self-drive golf cart due to the large area of the zoo. Entrance fees are quite affordable but vary for locals and tourists.
  • Great zoo. A must for those who visit KK.
  • So, make sure if you are taking the family to spring for the golf carts. Otherwise, you will be taking a tour bus around the zoo. The animals were cool, and you get to feed the bears, meerkats and lions!
