  • Arrival is by taxi but also super with the scooter. The entrance fee is 200 baht (less than €5) pp. Then run. Only a "relatively" metalled road and then it goes over wooden bridges or stones on to the first level (small waterfall). From there, which is away very narrow and rather steep. So no flip flops or similar wear. Level 2 (small waterfall) and level 3 (pretty neat waterfall) are nice to look at. Level 4 (small) is a lake for swimming. Level 5 is most impressive by how high the water down on the mountain and good to take photos. Tips: Roller can be driven a little further than the "Kartenhäuschen" - the Lady of the Kartenhäuschen also kept your helmet. The old lady on the way sold water - if you have none of it: buy it, you will need it. Sturdy shoes are not a must but also no sandals. Chuck's have submitted. If you take phones or cameras always take a water cover. The countless junk shops, you can buy cheap waterproof packages. I had my hand in a diving cover. Water shoes make sense. If wet shoes are OK you can take even that which you are.

  • We took a more spontaneous way here in flip-flop and only a small water bottle which is not completely is recommended. It had rained a lot so the steep trail was slippery but once up, it was worth all the chafing in the world, and exercise were of course! Not for young children or if you have difficulty walking but otherwise were these waterfalls are among the better we've seen!

  • Lovely waterfall and very cold but worth braving the water in the heat after a long climb up the hill.  more »

  • Entrance fee 200 thb/person. Few levels. About 30 minutes to the top
  • Nice walk to waterfall levels. Take good sandals or shoes (not flip flops) if you're going beyond fist level with pond. Second level has good pond too and less crowded. Good spot for picnic. Natural fish spa in ponds. National Park Fee 200 baht foreigner/20 baht Thai
  • Beautiful waterfall where you can swim also. Way to it is literally a long (1 km uphill) and stoney way ;-) It makes sense to wear tight shoes but if it's dry flip-flops also work.
  • The waterfall is not far from town, you can get a taxi or hire a bike for 250 bhat for the day. Park entrance fee is 20 for Thai's, 200 bhat for foreigners, (I wonder what what happen in the UK if anyone other than UK residents were charged x10 the price) and the park staff had no sense of humor.  Is about a 20 min moderate walk to an average waterfall, worth a photo and quick dip I suppose. We have been to many more impressive falls in Thailand.  If you are passing, pop in.
  • Picked up taxi outside the Moracea. Friendly driver bought water and cake for us on the way which was a nice touch, waited at the falls and returned us for 800 THB which seemed reasonable. One tip, go early for people free pics.

Where to stay in Khao Lak

Expect to find apartment and resort-style places to stay in Khao Lak. Beachside options charge relatively steep rates for views of Thailand's west coast and the sea, though you can also find less pricey self-service villas and apartment complexes in several areas along the shore. For budget hostels and hotels, look along Phetkasem Road, the main arterial road in Khao Lak.
