River Kwai, Kanchanaburi
(3.8/5 based on 1,000+ reviews on the web)
Enjoy a feature of the landscape as famous for its history as for its natural form at River Kwai. Known for its bridge and the book and movie detailing its construction by Allied POWs under the command of the Japanese military, the river itself deserves to be explored. Take a boat tour to learn its history, and admire its breadth and significance in the natural and social histories of the region. Educational and commercial developments center around the bridge, so consider taking a trip along the water to a quieter section to enjoy the plant and animal life of the riverbanks. • The bridge itself is a tourist attraction. Much more interesting are the museum and the cemetery and walk through Hellfire Pass. You can imagine how heavy the prisoners of war had to hand the whole pieces to remove than a rock/mountain railway to empty. Walking through a beautiful piece of nature remains from that time you look at the suffering of the prisoners.

  • In Kanchanaburi is the famous bridge on the River Kwai, glorified known, though not quite accurately depicting the realities of American historical film from 1957-for arcitekcipodrozy.pl. The famous bridge and the "hellish" tunnel to the most famous episodes. "Turn of death" are known from representations of the film the bridge on the River Kwai, and the team of tunnels known as the "Hellish journey". Metal bridge, which today we see in Kanchanaburi and by that lead active railroad tracks, is a later design, which replaced the original wooden bridge built by the prisoners (preserved the only wooden pillars). The second from the more difficult route is carved in the Rock Tunnel, is ok. 80 km north-west of Kanchanaburi. Work on the construction of the tunnel lasted even in the night, when the workers oświetlali a core rocks Glow Torch-hence the term reminiscent of Inferno. For abctajlandia.pl Unfortunately we were in the day. 2-hour combined with lunch is too short. The bridge we saw. We have seen the passage of the train. May need to be longer. Yourself. Have more time.
