View three countries from one spot at Sop Ruak - the center of the Golden Triangle, historically known for its opium production but now serving as a major Thailand tourist attraction. The vantage point affords superb views over Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand. Get a better sense of the significance of the area at the extensive opium museum (complete with a small plantation), which educates visitors on the production, effects, and eradication of the drug. • Of course a visit to Sop Ruak-with the three country point of the Golden Triangle-a must if you are in the North of Thailand. You should have been there and on the photo. Also visit the Golden Buddha and the Opium museum.

  • An unusual ship, a large Golden Buddha statue shone brightly in the Sun, a huge stone statue of the Indian elephant God Ganesha-it all somehow immediately caught my attention. Then I saw all the rest: map and the sign of the triangle, where 3 were identified in this place bordering countries: Thailand, Burma and Laos; the merger of the two rivers, forming Sandy triangle and many boats that for a small fee can take you to the other side and is already in another country. Travelers with backpacks, ready to move in Laos, willingly used their services. There's also went to a nearby Museum of opium (the House of Opium). We traveled by bus from Chiang paradise in Chang Hsien, then 20 minutes by Tuk ride to the golden triangle.

  • Nice for ten minutes, then you have actually seen here can I find ... On the advice of gzmaakt, a day trip here but I much more enjoyed the views over the fields and quaint villages than this border triangle.
