  • When driving in the city - we always seem to pass this lovely monument. Worth taking a look at - very interesting.
  • Located in the city centre in the area are selling flowers, joss sticks, candles to pay homage to the King, the father element, which is a city location.

  • King Mengrai was the founder of Chiang Rai beyond by 1260 and placed it as the capital of the Kingdom of Lanna, to be then moved to Chiang Mai. The city pays tribute to this beautiful monument. It is a nerve centre of this small town and permanently people pays taxes bringing him flowers, incense, gifts, etc. It is a nice place to sit and watch Thai life of a small town. To the night is more beautiful that of day and even there are some local playing music and gathered on the image of the King. It's nice to spend some time.
