Khun Korn Waterfall, Chiang Rai

(4/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web)
Mighty and powerful, Khun Korn Waterfall plunges 70 m (230 ft), creating a constant layer of mist around it. This natural wonder lies tucked away within the lush, exotic wilderness; reach it via a short forest trek from the parking lot. Come prepared to get wet in the spray and wear adequate hiking shoes to avoid slipping. A shallow pool of water, about waist-deep, lies below the fall. Brave swimmers can sit under the force of water, but be cautioned that the bottom is very rocky. Pack a picnic and enjoy one of the region's most popular and beautiful natural landmarks. • this is an easy 1.4km walk, nice scenery and no park fees. highly recommended. we went in january and quite cool but i expect even hot season nice as well shaded and lots of mist at the waterfall.
  • You pay zero (yea, zero) bahts to enter this park and you can go up a significant way uphill with car or motorbike. After some point, you have to walk about 1.5 km though the jungle, which was one of ...  more »
  • We love this place, especially during the hot season. Nice to have a picnic by the water and cool off in the river. The water is very clean because flowing on a bed of rocks, so no mud and barely cool. There are booths along the road, at the bottom, where you can buy chicken, among other. The ascent to the waterfall is nice, sometimes in a tunnel of bamboo. After a good 20 minutes and heat stroke. We bathe at the foot of the waterfall. Very friendly. No need to have a swimsuit, the thais bathe dressed and clothes dry quickly during the descent. This relaxing tour asks for a day and to be motorized, car or 2 wheeled vehicle. Possibly great race to do by bike. Possible to combine this outing with a visit of the Singha Park not far away.
