Chiang Saen, Chiang Rai

(4/5 based on 160+ reviews on the web)
Sought out for its historical significance, Chiang Saen once served as the seat of a 7th-century kingdom. Today the modern town retains ruins scattered throughout, including the architecture of many Buddhist shrines, or chedi. Big cargo barges anchor in port here, keeping the Chinese import tradition of produce and electronics alive. The river is an attraction in itself, with many tourists visiting just to watch the boats come up and down. Stop by the local museum for further background on the town's fascinating past. • Remains of the brick wall. However, it was also half forest surrounded by like. Judging from the high wall near the gate is double than Chiang Mai crumbled like so many are well know. Retreat 10 metres if you breached the outer wall near the gate, an attack from the top of a high solid wall system. In the range near the gate of the Chiang Mai, I notice, had no such structure of these two.
