Chiang Saen, Chiang Rai

4.0
#3 of 8 in Nature in Chiang Rai
Sought out for its historical significance, Chiang Saen once served as the seat of a 7th-century kingdom. Today the modern town retains ruins scattered throughout, including the architecture of many Buddhist shrines, or chedi. Big cargo barges anchor in port here, keeping the Chinese import tradition of produce and electronics alive. The river is an attraction in itself, with many tourists visiting just to watch the boats come up and down. Stop by the local museum for further background on the town's fascinating past. • Rental bikes, went to Thailand's Golden Triangle Chiang Saen was passed. When I first went to the Golden Triangle from Mae Sai. Chiang Saen rural and mountain ran on a rental bike. It is very nice. Road no most vehicles or people, so is recommended. Then I went to Chiang Rai from the Golden Triangle. I went to Chiang Rai ran down the Mekong River along the way. Along the Mekong River was a border guard (Border guard) of the building. It was very interesting. I think Chiang Saen is the typical rustic town border and rural areas. It was very good.

  • The ancient city of Shade, with its remnants of the ancient ruins of the old temple and the pagoda with the Buddha's relics, and the antique Buddhist temples. There is a national museum in Qing Sheng who is interested in the culture of blue, perhaps considering the purchase of tickets
