  • Not sure if it's a good thing to write about Thanin Market. This has always been my last stop before leaving Chiang Mai. The food here is affordable and you will also find fresh food to pack for the t...  more »

  • The fresh foods open-air section (has roof) is known locally as "clean market." One can get full local meals cooked by local entrepreneurs, rotiserrie chicken etc., as well as myriad other local eats, fresh vegetables and fruits. There are a couple of nut vendors where we get locally spiced roasted assortment, as well as almonds and walnuts. We go almost daily for the extensive salad bar (100 baht per 100 grams). There is even a watch repair lady in a little booth on corner of market if you need a battery replaced. Many small shops surrounding the open-air foods section sell clothes, sandals, etc.
  • A very local market for the local thai people, those who are very particular about hygeine stay away please. But having eaten a few times here, so far it's o.k. They have mix your own buffet, they have very nice broiled pork leg, the RAW rice sold here are fresh and always ask for new crops. fruits abundance, cheap slippers and clothing all at local price. No tourist will come here except those who stayed here for a while, good place to visit for local stuff.
  • Fantastic range of foods, very clean and incredibly cheap. Big range of clothing too, this is a seriously good market. There is a huge area with restaurants only, great variety as expected and so cheap. No Aircon with the meal tho, but the sweat is worth it.
  • This is my favorite market in Chiang Mai. Two buildings - one with fresh vegetables, fruits, a wet market, and countless varieties of prepared foods & snacks. The other building has 15-20 stall-style restaurants. We shop here 5x a week and love it!
  • Very clean undercover open market with beautifully presented fresh vegetables, fruit and meats. Also excellent for condiments, snack foods, cooked dishes and sweets. Next door is a Hawker area with lots of seating for diners.
