  • Located in the city centre, in a classic colonial building. The entrance fee is something in the region of 20-30 baht. However, the range of modest: a few outfits, objects of worship and everyday life, information stands, telling the story of the Kingdom of Lanna, which was present in the North of Thailand. Informative and for about an hour. A good way to take a breath during the daytime heat.

  • We wish we had done this museum first as it provided so much background information for visiting the temples. It's on the smaller side but with nicely done and easy to understand exhibits. The cafe is...  more »
  • Yep great to get out of the heat of the day. Good background information on the way of life, art and culture of the Lanna people, well worth a visit

  • Better than expected. Very well done and good way to take a break from the heat. On site hidden photo gallery at the back near the bath rooms.
  • Interesting museum - for those planning to visit, be warned of the dual pricing ripoff though with foreigners being charged 4.5 times the price for locals.
  • Nice exhibition of the tribe histories. The building is an old historic Court house.
  • Nice insight to the culture. Has a small cafe called cafe de museum. Nice cosy place with nice coffee n cake with beautiful presentation.
  • A big building across from Three Kings Monument, I paid the B90 admission fee and passed about a half dozen Thais on both sides on the counter just hanging out. I walked through the various rooms on two floors of this building for about an hour, taking in the history, arts, culture, and beauty from Thailand's northern kingdom. I'm glad I did, as it gives me even better appreciation for wondrous and wonderful Chiang Mai.
