Where to stay in Chiang Mai

While visiting Chiang Mai, keep in mind that the old town district and the area surrounding the famous night market offer both boutique (relatively expensive) and backpacker (relatively inexpensive) options. The riverside neighborhoods boast exclusive hotels and resorts, where comparatively pricey rooms come with good views and extensive facilities.

  • Accidentally discovered this place on the way to Wat Phan Tao, very nice and well preserved old house, not big but interesting architecture. Have some cool architecture models, a nice place to beat the heat after all day walking outside. They have a small cafe on the front yard too.
  • Worth a quick visit if interested in cool old architecture around Chiang Mai
  • Very nice! Also some exhibition from the university of architecture
  • Hidden treasure of heritage. Nothing fancy, nothing spectacular, no antiques on display, just a well preserved old house.
  • Beautiful colonial building
