Huay Tung Tao Lake, Chiang Mai

4.0
#3 of 9 in Nature in Chiang Mai
Water Body Nature / Park
Actually a man-made reservoir surrounded by forest, Huay Tung Tao Lake draws lots of visitors with swimming, sunning, and a laid-back atmosphere. Grab your bathing suit and make your way to the lake, where for a small fee you can kick back along the shore or make a splash. Claim a grass hut, complete with mats and a table, to enjoy the view across the lake from the comfort of the shade. Bring a picnic to stay energized, or grab some local fare at one of several restaurants dotting the shoreline. Keep in mind, however, that many of the establishments in the area charge higher prices on their English-language menus. It couldn't be easier to arrange your visit to Huay Tung Tao Lake and many more Chiang Mai attractions: make an itinerary online using Inspirock's Chiang Mai vacation generator.

Where to stay in Chiang Mai

While visiting Chiang Mai, keep in mind that the old town district and the area surrounding the famous night market offer both boutique (relatively expensive) and backpacker (relatively inexpensive) options. The riverside neighborhoods boast exclusive hotels and resorts, where comparatively pricey rooms come with good views and extensive facilities.
