Chiang Mai Night Safari, Chiang Mai

2.0
#2 of 24 in Parks in Chiang Mai
Zoo / Aquarium Garden
Catch a glimpse into the nocturnal lives of various animals at Chiang Mai Night Safari. You'll board an open-sided safari bus to tour the two zones in the park. In the first zone you will see animals such as zebras, and red kangaroos, while inquisitive giraffes poke their heads into the bus and may feed straight from your hand. In the second zone, various predators prowl, from lions and tigers to black bears and crocodiles. While waiting for the tour to start, cabaret dancers will keep you entertained. (And, despite the name, the zoo is also open during the day). Work out when and for how long to visit Chiang Mai Night Safari and other Chiang Mai attractions using our handy Chiang Mai vacation route planner.

Where to stay in Chiang Mai

While visiting Chiang Mai, keep in mind that the old town district and the area surrounding the famous night market offer both boutique (relatively expensive) and backpacker (relatively inexpensive) options. The riverside neighborhoods boast exclusive hotels and resorts, where comparatively pricey rooms come with good views and extensive facilities.

  • Extremely fun night trams that are insightful. The tiger show is a must watch. Most of the staff here are compassionate and available to make this experience a memorable one.  more »
  • 1. Misleading name: more of a zoo with the option of 2 mini-safaris. 2. Depressing: the animals in the zoo seem extremely miserable (especially the big cats) with barely any room to move around. I ass...  more »
  • Idk why people didn't like it, its a zoo. Sure some animals might be hidden, sure it's night time so pictures aren't great. However, the animals are within reach of you throughout the safari and you c...  more »
