Anusarn Market, Chiang Mai

(3.7/5 based on 280+ reviews on the web)
Lively and colorful, Anusarn Market attracts locals and tourists alike to its night bazaar. A few permanent shops, bars, and restaurants remain open during the day, but the authentic kiosks and stalls don't set up until the sun has set. Local vendors sell virtually everything: clothing, shoes, lighting, music, handicrafts, gifts, and souvenirs. If you get hungry check out the many authentic and inexpensive Thai, Asian, Indian, and seafood options. Rejuvenate with a traditional Thai massage or try a fish foot rub. Note that bargaining is commonplace, so come prepared to barter. By using our Chiang Mai trip itinerary maker, you can arrange your visit to Anusarn Market and other attractions in Chiang Mai.

  • Night market inevitable and very nice to find different items typical of this kind of work. Don't forget to negotiate prices

  • Sprawled over several streets these markets have stalls of many descriptions, selling many varied goods. Prices vary according to the individual seller. No admission cost. Highly recommended.  more »

  • Great to walk around early in the evening. The market is not great for food when you compare it to other markets in CM, but its great for artisanal stuff -- from leather goods to hand-made magnets. There's a happening Irish pub here that expats frequent.
  • Lots of fun. Fair prices. Vendors start breaking down after 11pm.
  • Nice market place for tourists. Lot of activities for everyone. Food was food too.
  • I liked a lot of the trinkets here better than other Thai markets. Many were unique and handmade. They also have a fun ladyboys cabaret show for 290thb!
  • Lots of stalls to buy souvenirs and hand made goods. Also a good place to work on your bargaining skills. Note to tourists, if you look like a foreigner, the prices will be 30-50% more. Shop around and be prepared o do some bargaining, I'd say 30% off is a good place to start. There's plenty of places to get some food too although I think kalare market has more options.
