Phanom Rung Historical Park (Prasat Hin Phanom Rung), Chaloem Phra Kiat

(4.7/5 based on 240+ reviews on the web)
Phanom Rung Historical Park (Prasat Hin Phanom Rung), a Khmer temple complex built in the 10th century, contains largely intact ruins built on the rim of an extinct volcano. When you go, first walk the long processional walkway leading to the main temple, but also look for a pavilion on the right of the walkway where the king once prepared for ceremonies. Once inside the pink sandstone sanctuary, you can admire carvings of Hindu gods and scene depictions from Ramayana. Explore the two libraries as well, where sacred Hindu texts are housed. • The monuments are beautiful, very well maintained. We had very good weather and few people allowed us to admire this aisle with its 67 flowers of lotus, its stairs that lead you on this fabulous website. And what a view up to the plains of Cambodia

  • I went here 15 years ago and it was really nice but people don't realize easier that we have to careful about this place :) now it's a bit late to keep the beautiful building still look amazing as before but still! I love this place anyway :)
  • Great day trip & well worth a look for the amazing views. About 1 hour by car from Buriram along good paved roads. There's food & drink available on site. Entry costs 200B for foreigners but this also gets you entry to prasat muang tam temple which is 10 minutes away.
  • Really amazing. Temple in the nature.
  • I turned at the doorstep because of their race dependant pricing. I'm well aware that this is common in thailand, but I just can't support that kind of businesses. Therefore I choose to boycott, and I wouldn't encourage anyone to visit this place.
