  • We got to this location a little past 8 am. Before going in, we ate at a hole-in-the-wall for breakfast (sooo good!!). When we went in there were some stalls set up along the outside selling goods and...  more »
  • For us it was a quick visit. We just wanted to see the 32 m. High Buddha. We were not inside the temple but it was definitely worth a visit anyway.

  • The standing Buddha can be visited on foot not far from Khao San. This temple is not nearly as crowded as Wat Pho or Wat Arun, but just as worth seeing. Here, you can ignite even a few incense in honor of Buddha and leave a few wishes. Attention, small leaf gold discs, which here can be pasted up on the toes of the Buddha is located in the small envelope that is mounted next to a small candle on the incense. There go the wishes are not fulfilled, I really don't know anymore!

  • Far from the tourist crowds, the majestic golden Standing Buddha is an amazing sight to see. Not far from Rama 8/Thewet ferry stops, a 5 minute ride from Tha Chang (Grand Palace) ferry stop.
  • Part of my self guided shrine tour in Bangkok. Take some time and stop by as you check off your to do list of shrines to see. Worth a stop. Wizard of Where.
  • One of the biggest standing buddha in protective gesture.
  • Came here for exotic photos
  • Nice to see but beware of the Tuk Tuk drivers, who want to urge you into a shopping center for their own commission... Those often wait at Wat Phra Kaeo.
