Soi Cowboy, Bangkok
Categories: Neighborhoods, Tourist Spots
See the bright lights and Go-Go Bars of neon-drenched Soi Cowboy, one of Bangkok's most popular late-night haunts among tourists and expats. The short strip features about 40 bars and Go-Go bars, where scantily clad dancers entertain their clientele, so think twice about bringing children. Nightlife columnist Bernard Trink named the street Cowboy after T.G. "Cowboy" Edwards, a retired American airman who opened one of the first bars there in 1977. The nickname comes from the cowboy hat he often wore. Make Soi Cowboy a centerpiece of your Bangkok vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Bangkok trip builder.
