Silom Village, Bangkok

2.2
#5 of 9 in Neighborhoods in Bangkok
Neighborhood Tourist Spot
Enjoy a meal and some traditional Thai dance at Silom Village. Built over a century ago, this trading center transformed in the 1980s when the buildings were connected together and used as a display of Thai culture for tourists. Admire the well-preserved structures, which now house a restaurant, shopping arcade, spa, and hotel. Browse the shops for souvenirs and gifts, and stop by the restaurant to enjoy traditional Thai dance while you dine. Make Silom Village a part of your Bangkok vacation plans using our Bangkok tourist route planner.

  • Silom Village, a kind of complex with green and different areas you can visit restaurants and shops. You can choose between two options, closed menu and you will have inside or à la carte menu, you can dine outside. If you don't like air conditioning, better stay out... the contrast between the outside and the inside is very exaggerated. Of echo If you are going to be inside don't forget a jacket. We went out and we were located in a good area to enjoy the show. Live music and different dancers who will take you to soak up a little more of Thai culture. You can enjoy two performances, one by 1945 and the other if I remember correctly at 20: 30. The dishes, there are a lot of variety, from Thai to Western cuisine. So if the day you don't feel like "spicy food (spicy food)" have more alternatives. It is a visit that I recommend that you do on your own, we do so with excursion charged €32 per person. Finally, taking a taxi (cheap compared with Spain) and dining there we spend €34 per two persons. You save half if you're going on your own, take advantage and enjoy the traditional dance and tasting Thai food!

  • The restaurant offers thai dining and catch a show with traditional Thai dancing. To tell the truth there was impressive for several reasons. First the food: too spicy and much poorer quality than many thai restaurants that we visited during our trip. The show was very nice to tell the truth but not worth it because it has a very limited duration.

Where to stay in Bangkok

As a commercial, cultural, and tourist center, Bangkok offers a great diversity of accommodations. For long established and chain hotels, try Sukhumvit Road and the areas surrounding the central Siam Square, where budget and luxury rooms are available in abundance. If you are looking for the backpacker zone, head to Khaosan Road, where you'll find a wealth of inexpensive, simple accommodations surrounded by businesses tailored to traveler's needs. Consider staying at a guesthouse to gain a deeper understanding of Thai life.
