Siam Square, Bangkok

3.9
#36 of 255 in Shopping in Bangkok
Whether you're looking for shopping, entertainment, or a place to dine, you'll find everything at Siam Square. Often referred to as Bangkok's SoHo, the area perfectly encapsulates the capital's bustling spirit. Here you'll find everything from massive shopping malls and a plethora of eateries to small boutique stores and beauty salons. Catch a local film or commercial blockbluster at one of several cinemas. While the nightlife scene isn't exactly burgeoning, there are places where you can go out after dark and catch some live music. Very nice place to look at local shops, different from the big shopping malls. Very interesting place and worth to wonder around.  more »

Many were small tenant before selling sundry goods, such as clothes, accessories, bags, but here dramatically over the years. It was recap with open-air tables side by side and serves as food shop. Instead of more fashion. I'd previously attracted a mixed feeling of kyoei building and tenant, had often done. Bangkok femininity and Siam Square are no longer lonely as long as it is.

The mall is ok, but we found that we could get whatever we wanted in the malls nearby. Only good to purposely head here if you are looking for a specific shop. It is an open air mall, so you'll feel a sense of relief stepping into the air-conditioned shops. Side note: There was a pop-up market which sold some beautiful accessories at the side of the mall when we went!

Good place for hunting food. All kinds of food here. Good meal, Junk food, Salad, Dessert, Buffet, etc. Just everything about food!!! There are cosmetics, clothes, bags and gifts as well, but I'm not interested.

Only went here because it seemed like a popular place from what I've heard. I guess mostly students go here. I dunno why they would, as it still seemed like an expensive place. Seems like a shopping arcade for trendy teens and young adults. It's not crowded, not many people at all.

New open air mall adjacent to BTS Siam Station. Many good restaurants and retail stores. Because the mall isn't enclosed, there is no air conditioning until you enter a store.....so it can get quite hot and humid while walking around the mall.

Modern shopping center. Popular with locals and tourists. Wide range of shops and restaurants.

Where to stay in Bangkok

As a commercial, cultural, and tourist center, Bangkok offers a great diversity of accommodations. For long established and chain hotels, try Sukhumvit Road and the areas surrounding the central Siam Square, where budget and luxury rooms are available in abundance. If you are looking for the backpacker zone, head to Khaosan Road, where you'll find a wealth of inexpensive, simple accommodations surrounded by businesses tailored to traveler's needs. Consider staying at a guesthouse to gain a deeper understanding of Thai life.
