Siam Square, Bangkok

3.9
#35 of 251 in Shopping in Bangkok
Whether you're looking for shopping, entertainment, or a place to dine, you'll find everything at Siam Square. Often referred to as Bangkok's SoHo, the area perfectly encapsulates the capital's bustling spirit. Here you'll find everything from massive shopping malls and a plethora of eateries to small boutique stores and beauty salons. Catch a local film or commercial blockbluster at one of several cinemas. While the nightlife scene isn't exactly burgeoning, there are places where you can go out after dark and catch some live music. • Siam Square is just opposite to Siam Paragon and is near to BTS train station. The place has low to mid ranged products to offer. The market is clean enough and there are numbers of food shops. One ca...  more »
  • Do take note of opening hours. The eatery we were eye-Ing (Inter) was only open at 11am. Some shops only at 1pm and this was on a Saturday. Some of the (fashion) malls are not worth a visit. Love one ...  more »

  • The mall is ok, but we found that we could get whatever we wanted in the malls nearby. Only good to purposely head here if you are looking for a specific shop. It is an open air mall, so you'll feel a sense of relief stepping into the air-conditioned shops. Side note: There was a pop-up market which sold some beautiful accessories at the side of the mall when we went!
  • Good place for hunting food. All kinds of food here. Good meal, Junk food, Salad, Dessert, Buffet, etc. Just everything about food!!! There are cosmetics, clothes, bags and gifts as well, but I'm not interested.
  • Only went here because it seemed like a popular place from what I've heard. I guess mostly students go here. I dunno why they would, as it still seemed like an expensive place. Seems like a shopping arcade for trendy teens and young adults. It's not crowded, not many people at all.
  • New open air mall adjacent to BTS Siam Station. Many good restaurants and retail stores. Because the mall isn't enclosed, there is no air conditioning until you enter a store.....so it can get quite hot and humid while walking around the mall.
  • Modern shopping center. Popular with locals and tourists. Wide range of shops and restaurants.

Where to stay in Bangkok

As a commercial, cultural, and tourist center, Bangkok offers a great diversity of accommodations. For long established and chain hotels, try Sukhumvit Road and the areas surrounding the central Siam Square, where budget and luxury rooms are available in abundance. If you are looking for the backpacker zone, head to Khaosan Road, where you'll find a wealth of inexpensive, simple accommodations surrounded by businesses tailored to traveler's needs. Consider staying at a guesthouse to gain a deeper understanding of Thai life.
