  • THE place for ladies to shop till they drop! Spanning 3 zones and about 6 levels with hundreds of shops, it has tons of clothes, lingeries, swim wear, kids clothes, and entire top level dedicated to mobile accessories, leather small items, hats, jewellery and more. Be prepared to spend at least one full day here. Definitely bargain for prices and as it also sells wholesale to local vendors, it would help going there with a few friends and combining your purchases for a discount. I personally feel that the quality of clothes has improved over the years but still the sizes are more for petite folks and I dislike the odd lengths of some items. As we are unable to try the clothes, more often than not I'll be throwing away half the purchases. Prices are higher now too, ranging from 200-300 baht. There are also a couple of restaurants at the top, good for a quick and fuss free meal. There is a nice crepe place at the basement of zone 1 I believe, that sells really crispy crepes and have seats to rest your feet after a long day. The mall closes quite early though by about 7pm or so and some stalls will move out to the streets for night market.
  • Good place to buy clothes. It has all most everything. Some have every good price. The bad thing is that it's a crowded place. Too many people. Hard to walk and not very relaxing. It's a great place for those who love shopping, have patient to find some special things.
  • Great for womans. Lot of clothing, diverse design, pricing. Cannot say the same to their partners though. Chair only available next to the escalator. Not that many clothes for man and their price is higher and fixed. Most store have the same price. Lets say you found this jacket you like but you are not sure to buy it and you check all the stores, you will see it same fix price. It is cheap compared to branded stuff but remember. No try, no return.
  • MUST VISIT EVERY TIME I'M IN BANGKOK. Fashion heaven!! There's 2 platinum malls one selling mainly garments and the other bags and shoes. Novotel is attached to this mall. Take note you'd need a few hours to "finish" walking round the mall if you intend to shop and see everything. At platinum mall you can buy 1 garment or 3 or more pieces to qualify for wholesale price.
  • Will get a variety of items from cloths, bags, shoes, soviners, etc at affordable prices. This is good for travellers who are looking for some Thai items that they can take back home. Bargaining is possible here. The merchants here are very friendly and well mannered. For me personally I liked this place very much. Will surely come back when I visit Bangkok again.

Where to stay in Bangkok

As a commercial, cultural, and tourist center, Bangkok offers a great diversity of accommodations. For long established and chain hotels, try Sukhumvit Road and the areas surrounding the central Siam Square, where budget and luxury rooms are available in abundance. If you are looking for the backpacker zone, head to Khaosan Road, where you'll find a wealth of inexpensive, simple accommodations surrounded by businesses tailored to traveler's needs. Consider staying at a guesthouse to gain a deeper understanding of Thai life.
