  • THE place for ladies to shop till they drop! Spanning 3 zones and about 6 levels with hundreds of shops, it has tons of clothes, lingeries, swim wear, kids clothes, and entire top level dedicated to mobile accessories, leather small items, hats, jewellery and more. Be prepared to spend at least one full day here. Definitely bargain for prices and as it also sells wholesale to local vendors, it would help going there with a few friends and combining your purchases for a discount. I personally feel that the quality of clothes has improved over the years but still the sizes are more for petite folks and I dislike the odd lengths of some items. As we are unable to try the clothes, more often than not I'll be throwing away half the purchases. Prices are higher now too, ranging from 200-300 baht. There are also a couple of restaurants at the top, good for a quick and fuss free meal. There is a nice crepe place at the basement of zone 1 I believe, that sells really crispy crepes and have seats to rest your feet after a long day. The mall closes quite early though by about 7pm or so and some stalls will move out to the streets for night market.
  • Great place to shop for women. Of you're coming with your wife or girlfriend, be prepared for a couple of hours walking. There are some benches on every floor but occupied most of the time. Prices are pretty much fixed but cheap. Mostly stuff from China. The stuff sold in the mall is the same with the shops outside with the same price. Platinum mall is air conditioned so it's better than the outdoor one.
  • Shopping maniacs know and love Thailand as one of their favourite shopping destinations. Platinum is a great wholesale place where you can get all your needs at a very cheap price. For bulk buyers like me, it is a haven of shoes and other gifts. There is one catch though. To really benefit from buying in Platinum, you should buy in bulk. Single purchases do not offer nearly the same benefits. Happy Shopping!!!
  • Is near the shopping heaven. Massage is all over. With the new night market just around the corner is a plus point. Pun willing to let me check out later since there is no other ppl checking in today. If u just want to shop shop shop this is the right place. Once again thanks pun for being such a good host
  • Platinum is a huge, towering multi-level mall that has an amazing collection of wholesale clothing. Remember, you can bargain your way to lower prices, so brush up on your Thai beforehand. Adjacent, there's the Central Mall, and right outside, there's a market with amazing street food. Just be prepared to walk. It's alright though, the shopkeepers are amazing to hold conversations with!

Where to stay in Bangkok

As a commercial, cultural, and tourist center, Bangkok offers a great diversity of accommodations. For long established and chain hotels, try Sukhumvit Road and the areas surrounding the central Siam Square, where budget and luxury rooms are available in abundance. If you are looking for the backpacker zone, head to Khaosan Road, where you'll find a wealth of inexpensive, simple accommodations surrounded by businesses tailored to traveler's needs. Consider staying at a guesthouse to gain a deeper understanding of Thai life.
