  • Great British library in beautiful surroundings. Great kid's section, as eell as children's story time and other seasonal activities almost every Saturday.
  • Charming oasis of colonial style library in Silom. Members have weekly events for kids!
  • Nice English-speaking staff. I like the gallery. This library has the feeling of a fine university library in the US
  • Neilson Hays is the oldest English language library in Bangkok. You can see the brown plaque in Google Street View which marks the library as an historic building. Completed in 1922 as a memorial to Dr Hays' wife, it housed the Bangkok Library Association collection of books. The original Association was founded in 1869 but did not have a permanent home until Dr Hays donated the current building to create the Neilson Hays Library Association. Although the 1922 exterior is intact, the interior did not survive the Second World War and today you visit the 1947 reconstruction. The Art CafĂ© is a 21st century addition which holds monthly exhibitions and is open to everyone. The Neilson Hays Library is funded by membership fees and private donations.
