Where to stay in Bangkok

As a commercial, cultural, and tourist center, Bangkok offers a great diversity of accommodations. For long established and chain hotels, try Sukhumvit Road and the areas surrounding the central Siam Square, where budget and luxury rooms are available in abundance. If you are looking for the backpacker zone, head to Khaosan Road, where you'll find a wealth of inexpensive, simple accommodations surrounded by businesses tailored to traveler's needs. Consider staying at a guesthouse to gain a deeper understanding of Thai life.

  • I really love and enjoy this place, quiet and good environment. Opening hours are not that late. Free wifi, 100 Baht/visit for Thai people if you are not membership. Love to go back more often.
  • Really good place for a quite reading day. Their cafe is a good place to snack while reading. I found Friedrich Nietzsche's Thus Spoke Zarathustra, a book I had been looking for a very long time, and couldn't even find in book stores. Love the place, and their book sales are pretty great. Bought a genuine leather bound, collector's edition Crime & Punishment for only a 1000 baht. Their book selection, needless to say, is pretty incredible.
  • Fantastic small library recommended for family who live in Bangkok. Every month there is an art exhibition in the small room. This month is quilt show by Karen Sengel. She is a very talented artist.
  • Quite a good collection of old English literatures about this SEA region. Also some of modern books. Lovely, cozy, old British atmosphere here.
  • A historic place. The first library in Bangkok.
