National Science Museum, Bangkok
(4.4/5 based on 20+ reviews on the web)
The National Science Museum is a science museum in Thailand. Located in Khlong Luang district, Pathum Thani province, it was officially opened in 2000 to celebrate Queen Sirikit's 60th birthday. The museum is operated under the Ministry of Science and Technology.

In addition to typical scientific exhibits, the museum's sixth floor features exhibits on traditional Thai technologies such as pottery, carving, wickerwork, and metallurgy. The museum's fourth floor examines how Thailand's geography has shaped the Thai people through the centuries.

As of 2006, the museum's first floor held a special exhibit in honor of the Thai king, Bhumibol Adulyadej, or Rama IX. The king celebrated his 60th year on the Thai throne in the summer of that year.

The museum is also known as Queen Sirikit the Great Science Museum; Sirikit is the wife of King Bhumibol. The museum opened with her royal support.

  • Enjoyable trip. Rangsit-nakhonnayok road until you reach Canal 5 sign and listen to the repeated admission. 100 baht for adults, to join all 3 buildings: the main building is. The building and the building IT is bustling with kids weekday visits a group may not be able to visit each student details. Can take the fun and get enough information from various points. Equipment, or other property of each point is considered 80% complete, there may be a corrupted? because the audience is mostly small children.

  • Like other Thai science museums, its excellent for youth to serve passion in science. From my view, it lacks deep science insights and good story telling. Planetarium in Science dome is awesome, recommended.
  • very nice place to learn science in an easy way, a lot of student here everyday, dozens of buses
  • Very good for kids to explore science. Many practices, NSM provides for learning.
