Nature / Park
Take a break from the concrete and glass hubbub of contemporary Bangkok at Lumpini Park, an open public space offering much-welcomed urban relief for residents and tourists. Trees, grass, and views unimpeded by nearby buildings are something of a rarity in the city center, contributing to this green space's immense popularity. Take a boat out onto the man-made lake or enjoy a bike ride along its many cycling and walking paths. With a library, playgrounds, and over 30 species of birds making their home here, the park has plenty to offer visitors of all ages. Make Lumpini Park a centerpiece of your Bangkok vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Bangkok itinerary maker.

  • Use walking early in the morning. When I turn around and start walking in the Park from the Dim gradually city dawn white, are disappearing. Morning Park is plenty of emotion. And also a lot of toilets, opening shops as well. Every weekend there are some Park Marathon and sells t-shirts. Some people with wheelchairs and crutches, and inspiring.

  • Go here early in the morning. You will see locals doing gymnastics and running. It's so calm before the city gets busy. It's a gem near Silom area.  more »
  • Lumpini Park is a lovely Oasis in the middle of Bangkok. It's great for a morning stroll when the weather is cooler. It was very peaceful after having some breakfast, to which proved a perfect antidot...  more »

  • All together a great place to spend some quality time on a weekend Saturday/Sunday. A nice place to spend Early morning and Late evening for all ages. It covers a track area of 3 km on a single stretch. Early morning : Its busy with people from 5.00~8.00 am. The track is marked for cycling and Running as well. Various group practise aerobics / Martial arts / Meditation. I also came across with artist practising some musical instruments like flute & Violin. A Eldery women greet every time you pass by so enthusiastically. Very inspiring to find people on wheel chair join with group on a Jog. Late Evening : Ideal time is from 5.30~6.30 pm. National anthem at 6.00 pm will bring every one to a stand still. Feels good to a patriotic music played every day. The atmosphere is so tempting & encouraging that one feels so excited to join others in walks.
  • A famed park in the middle of Bangkok. In December, the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra hosts a "Concert in the Park" series that is definitely one of the best free things to do in the city. Bring a picnic blanket, buy some snacks and drinks from vendors, and enjoy the cool evening air with some music. The park is popular with both locals and tourists; there are plenty of programs for anyone to enjoy.
  • My favorite park in BK. I love the hard level aerobics (level 3) that starts at about 6.30pm everyday. And also running here at night or working out for 20THB. And you can shower after. It has the good vibes of thousands of people unwinding from their busy lives and responsibilities.
  • Bangkok's most centrally located and by far the busiest park in the city. A great place to relax, regenerate or simply enjoy life by exercising (running, cycling - only mornings - or taking part in one of the many Tai Chi or Aerobic classes), listening to concerts or let the kids experience the play grounds. Small lakes invite to ride a rental boat. A place for sport enthusiasts, families and busy business people alike to socialize, hang out or 'green' up their hectic city day.
  • Nice to get away from the city traffic and enjoy a walk around a great park without having to worry about getting hit by a car, bus, or moped. The smooth walking surface is nice too. I never thought that one of the things I would miss about home is a properly built sidewalk.
