King Rama IX Park, Bangkok

4.6
#7 of 37 in Parks in Bangkok
Explore the largest green space in the capital city at King Rama IX Park, a site built in 1987 for King Bhumibol's 60th birthday. This park boasts an international botanical garden and a large lake where you can take paddle boats onto the water. Also visit the gold-topped building housing photos, paintings, and information about the King. If you arrive early, join in the public morning aerobics or Tai-Chi classes. When you get hungry, head toward the entrances of the park, where small stands usually sell barbecued chicken, noodles, and fruit. • Park is nice for picnics and a stroll. Not many tourists during our visit. You can ride a boat for a fee. You can also feed the fishes for a fee. There's food nearby the entrances but there's also a blue cup cafe inside the park as well as a few other vendors. There's an aviary I think but was undergoing maintenance during our visit.
  • Very nice park , large territory. Has everything for recreation and public heath! Nice cactus park inside, love to spend time and exercise there! Has a recycle bins as well. However , not many taxi drivers knows it, so be prepared to explain exact directions for people.
  • Park is quite spacious and beautiful. Park is open from Morning 5am to 7pm with entry fee of 20B. Lots of different beautiful flowers and trees to click pics. Every useful for joggers, play with kids, good for short family outing, Even have a big lake and boat rides, paid toilets available. Avoid afternoon period too much sunlight. Don't mistake saying "Rama 9 road" ☺️ it's different.
  • It's spacious, well maintain and free. There are a few gates to enter and exit be sure to check their timing for free parking. The toilets inside are not free. But it's affordable and clean. There are kiosks located inside the park that sell beverages and snack. There are lots of monitor lizard, birds, squirrels etc....Please make sure not to disturb or hurt them.
  • Great Park. A little busy on the weekends to be expected. But nice Park. Bike zones are few. Signs for the bike lanes are few.. The park ranger staff will advise restrictions.
