Where to stay in Bangkok

As a commercial, cultural, and tourist center, Bangkok offers a great diversity of accommodations. For long established and chain hotels, try Sukhumvit Road and the areas surrounding the central Siam Square, where budget and luxury rooms are available in abundance. If you are looking for the backpacker zone, head to Khaosan Road, where you'll find a wealth of inexpensive, simple accommodations surrounded by businesses tailored to traveler's needs. Consider staying at a guesthouse to gain a deeper understanding of Thai life.

  • It is nothing like the touristic floating market but has the charm of local market. There is the boat canal tour and is highly recommended. Eating is the highlight for visiting the market, sitting on a little wooden stool under a thatched roof and ordering delicious dishes are really good fun and exotic experience. Very nice!
  • Amazing market. One of the biggest yet least touristy markets. Take a cheap boat tours that take you into the klongs. Great food great place. Highly recommended.

  • An authentic floating market experience awaits, with a taste of some of the best boat noodles and local delicacies. a fascinating boat ride along the criss-crossing khlongs, meetings the water monitor lizards, peeping into the lives of khong side communities, some temples and orchid farms. I am glad not too many pharangs come here.
  • Very Local Market. Great Food! Try the Goong ob woon sen (Shrimp with mungbean noodles, garlic, ginger, black pepper, and a hint of Sichuan pepper)
