After walking around the perimeter of this "top attraction" we found no entrance into the park. Any staff we spoke to gave us instructions to essential walk a long distance to the next entrance, each ...  more »

An armed guard at the entrance told me that Vimanmek Palace is still closed so I got back in the taxi and headed around the hoardings to the next entrance where, thankfully, the beautifully twinkly Ab...  more »

nice walk in this park, you can enjoy the freshness of the place, away from the bustle of the city... the zoo is any, but the Park is nice with its Lake... We regretted been there late and not having spent more time. It's fine. Saw some geriatric animals. The birds were the most impressive and I liked the Australian exhibit. There is a massive carp in the Asiatic Bear pond that made me question what I was seeing. Keep a sharp eye on your kids. They could fall over a railing into a crocodile pen or approach one of the free-range water monitors.

Excellent for Asian standard. It wasn't busy and I was able to enjoy the animals by myself. The animals looked all good and you can see they are being taken care of. Some cages could be bigger, though. For the price definitely worth the visit. Food court was excellent and cheap too.

Always good fun to get away inside the city. Major renovation at the moment so some exhibits aren't open and some things are difficult to find. Hopefully the big cats will be moved to a quieter part of the zoo as they're currently along a busy road. Hello Africa Acrobatic Kenya Show was a definite highlight.

Because there is zoo and botanical garden at the same place. There is also a swimming pool for children, and a lake. They have giraffe wich I saw first time in live. Also, lots of food and drink vendors.

Where to stay in Bangkok

As a commercial, cultural, and tourist center, Bangkok offers a great diversity of accommodations. For long established and chain hotels, try Sukhumvit Road and the areas surrounding the central Siam Square, where budget and luxury rooms are available in abundance. If you are looking for the backpacker zone, head to Khaosan Road, where you'll find a wealth of inexpensive, simple accommodations surrounded by businesses tailored to traveler's needs. Consider staying at a guesthouse to gain a deeper understanding of Thai life.
