Benjakitti Park, Bangkok

#10 of 30 in Parks in Bangkok
Relax or exercise in the heart of Bangkok at Benjakitti Park, boasting a pleasant lakeside view of the adjacent skyline. Once owned by the Tobacco Monopoly of Thailand, the park has since been transformed. Today it features 2 km (1.2 mi) of bike trails and sand jogging tracks around an artificial lake populated with catfish and turtles. Wander the gardens, stroll the lakeside boardwalks, get out on the water in a paddleboat, or make use of the exercise equipment dotted throughout the grounds. There aren't many food or drink stalls on site, so bring some snacks if you want. This is the place you can do jogging and bicycling all around a little lake (2 km per round). It's great because there is some wind over the water and it makes it more enjoyable, as it's hot in Bangko...  more »

From a distance, this is a pretty oasis in a sea of concrete and traffic, but we soon found out why it was empty. No swimming, no playing games, no fishing, no picnics on the grass, keep to the concre...  more »

Love it, been going there to run nearly every day for the last 11 years. 1.9km circuit. Nice Lake, clean Park and I always meet nice people.

Stuning scenary especially on the evening. Plus, there are tracks for cycling, running, and have a walk way around the lake. It is nice to do exercise and take a rest.

A nice mile or so loop for running or biking. Also, there is an easy connecting path to Limpini Park for extended runs.

This is a really nice place in the middle of the busy city of Bangkok. A nice atmosphere to refresh yourself.

A large park with a lake in the middle. Lots of sculptures and decorations. Plenty of space to jog, bike, walk, etc. Great vibe and easy to get here using the MRT. A new area just opened up, called "Suan Pa Benjakitti".

Where to stay in Bangkok

As a commercial, cultural, and tourist center, Bangkok offers a great diversity of accommodations. For long established and chain hotels, try Sukhumvit Road and the areas surrounding the central Siam Square, where budget and luxury rooms are available in abundance. If you are looking for the backpacker zone, head to Khaosan Road, where you'll find a wealth of inexpensive, simple accommodations surrounded by businesses tailored to traveler's needs. Consider staying at a guesthouse to gain a deeper understanding of Thai life.
