Benjakitti Park, Bangkok

Categories: Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.4/5 based on 190+ reviews on the web
Relax or exercise in the heart of Bangkok at Benjakitti Park, boasting a pleasant lakeside view of the adjacent skyline. Once owned by the Tobacco Monopoly of Thailand, the park has since been transformed. Today it features 2 km (1.2 mi) of bike trails and sand jogging tracks around an artificial lake populated with catfish and turtles. Wander the gardens, stroll the lakeside boardwalks, get out on the water in a paddleboat, or make use of the exercise equipment dotted throughout the grounds. There aren't many food or drink stalls on site, so bring some snacks if you want. • Our hotel is nearby, 5 mins from Asoke bts Cheap cycle rental, I think 40B for 2, they also have paddling boats for rental. Locals come to jog and picnic.
  • Easy travel with MRT station Queen Sirikit Centre and enjoy a relaxing exercise. Good ambience and Ph.d. University of Bangkok. Is recommended that the most convenient subway use.

  • An oasis of calm in Bangkok. From my hotel in SOI Sukhumvit Road, just 10 minutes from the Park. Jogging and bicycle ride along the shore. Meditation and relaxation found in the other areas. Very well maintained facility.

  • This is an awesome park, with a giant lake in the middle. My favorite part is that you can rent paddle boats to explore around the lake. It's very beautiful and very clean. You can also rent bikes, and there's a nice walking path all around the lake. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere. Even though it's in the city, there's not much to do besides the park right around here. But it's an awesome park.
  • Highly recommended park (comparable to Lumphini Park) to go in the morning and evening for a walk, jog, bicycle or boat for rental and exercise stations. Will be in the shade of trees on the far side and shadow of buildings across the road on the walking track in the earlier part of the morning. Entrance from Queen Sirikit Convention Centre side. If you are walking from Sukhumvit Station the entrance is about 400 metres away.
  • Benjakiti park is a great place to visit whether you are a visitor or if you live in Bangkok. It's a short walk away from the Asoke BTS Station and it's a quick and nice place to escape to when you feel that big city drain. I highly recommend it.
  • One of Bangkok's very few green spaces with a 1.8 km running/walking track around lake. Concentric to the walking track, there is also a dedicated bicycle track of 2 km. One can rent bicycles on the eastern side of the lake. There is also a connecting wide walkway/bikeway from the northwest corner of park that will take you (over the expressway) to the northeast corner of Lumpini park, all without having to worry about motor traffic. Thus you can extend your walk or bike trip to central Bangkok's other green space. Cool, yes?
  • An Oasis near Sukhumvit. A nice place to step out of the chaos of the city. Pretty good circuit for running
