Baiyoke Sky Tower, Bangkok

3.8
#38 of 944 in Things to do in Bangkok
Head up, up, up above Bangkok at Baiyoke Sky Tower, the tallest building in Thailand. Built in 1998, the building includes a lounge bar and hotel. As you approach, notice the modern exterior's nod to Art Deco in its coloration and spacing of windows--something akin to an Art Deco space rocket. Take the elevator up the 309 m (1,014 ft) tower to the top-floor observation deck, which gives extensive and impressive views of the metropolis below. Take a look at our Bangkok trip builder to schedule your visit to Baiyoke Sky Tower and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

The views are incredible but the platform is in the works and you can only see half of it... Nobody announces it to buy the ticket, the price remains the same, give a cup with consumption and bar has great views. I would recommend the visit but they should warn whenever there are of as it is the tower.

the price worth it, on top of this skyscraper (80 floors), the top of which turns on itself in 360 degrees for the most comprehensive view over Bangkok. a must do! The lift also rises to such speed ...!!!

Great viewpoint, with entry fee but you will get a drink voucher for it. Marvelous view of the great Megacity of Thailand.

Been there at night, because a friend of mine told me this is a must have in Bangkok. Payed 400 Baht for entrance and a free drink at the sky bar. The few was great, but if you already seen a few city's, it's nothing special. The tower get a long in the tooth and the drinks are not very good. The top platform is moving so it's not very good to take night pictures.

360° view platform that is rotating. The music is kinda annoying after some time, I wish they will turn it off sometimes and not run it in a loop. Best view over the whole city. Must seen for everyone who likes good views.

Where to stay in Bangkok

As a commercial, cultural, and tourist center, Bangkok offers a great diversity of accommodations. For long established and chain hotels, try Sukhumvit Road and the areas surrounding the central Siam Square, where budget and luxury rooms are available in abundance. If you are looking for the backpacker zone, head to Khaosan Road, where you'll find a wealth of inexpensive, simple accommodations surrounded by businesses tailored to traveler's needs. Consider staying at a guesthouse to gain a deeper understanding of Thai life.
