  • Loved our time in this city exploring the many ruins . Highly recommend more than a daytrip. We had 2 days and stayed 1 night which was enough to see the main highlights but we could have spent more t...  more »
  • You can see it behind the ruins of Ayuthaya dynasty murals remain. You could slowly see the murals came in fewer visits to their visitors in the evening hours. Who painted the picture painted hundreds of years ago, I could have a good time. I think you should have noted the steep internal stairs, so go.

  • Naturally maintained remains of the ancient city. Few towers were under construction. At the time of visit (Nov 2016), the entrance fee was free in commemoration of King's death. No shades at all so be prepared to drink a lot of water and rest along the way.
  • Wat Ratchaburana (Thai: วัดราชบูรณะ) is a Buddhist temple (wat) in the Ayutthaya Historical Park, Ayutthaya, Thailand. The temple's main prang is one of the finest in the city. Located in the island section of Ayutthaya, Wat Ratchaburana is immediately north of Wat Mahathat.
  • Wat Ratchaburana is next to Wat Mahathat, which is pretty similar. After seeing the latter, you might be a bit disappointed with this. This condition of the wat is pretty good and it has been restored to its original condition. The main prang is accessible via steep stairs.
  • Big, old, impressive and rich in history like many of the other temples. BUT, this one has a tomb you can climb into from the main prang!
  • This is another of the beautiful temples in the area. Originally restored.
