  • Beautifully decorated museum with valuable jewels of art. As the birth of Brachma from the navel of Vishnu a very nice and clear well preserved fries from a temple. The churning of the celestial Ocean by an avatar of Vishnu etc. Really a must for those who of Buddhist and Hindu art. A time line through the turbulent past of Thailand, plain and simple.

  • As usual there is no sign of equality between thai people and foreigners, even in a simple museum... Also, no aircon, and it's very hot.  more »

  • The gold of Ayutthaya is an impressive sight with a most fascinating story to be told. Unfortunately, it is difficult to learn much from the sparse and partly poor English translations. Exhibits are generally well arranged.
  • So many great historical pieces. Need to improve on the way to display and explain these things. And a lot of great precious are not allowed to be pictured.
  • My two cents about this museum:- 1. The surrounding was clean and well taken care of, 2. Overall GOOD amount of display items. However, when I was there, quite a number items were borrowed by other museums and why it seem like everything lump together? 3. (Very) lack of Thai to English translation. Better description of an item would give us a better understanding of the wats and the old city. 4. Quite a lot of school children were there. I suspect this venue is kind of like an education centre too. 5. Should have at least 1 guide or person which can tell you a story/ guide in this museum. Sadly, even the relics rooms (2 rooms) PICs are busy with their handphone without much paying attention to you/ your questions. 6. Besides the main building, the 2nd and 3rd (Thai traditional house) buildings had no visitor in it, none English translation of the artifacts and no one at the counter. 7. Should be a first stop to visitor when visiting this old city. So "very" much improvement needed.
  • Nice to see the relics from the temples. Not too much is explained in English, mainly just the titles. The museum itself it's very nice!
  • When you visit Ayutthaya. This museum offer you a close look of the old capital's artifacts. Although the collections are small but admission fee is not that expensive. This is a peaceful place to sit down and have some rest from super hot/humid Thailand weather.
